We stayed in one of the small, queen bed cottages next to the river and green belt. Good: -Dog friendly -Good view of the river from the cottage large window -Green belt path in front of the cottages **Poor: -Our cottage had a weird smell. We don’t know if it’s because they are very old or something else. -There are no pet disposal cans for poop bags. You’ll have to take your poop bags to the park garbage cans next door. -Leaky bathroom faucet -Very old saggy queen bed that needs replaced. They “fixed” the problem by adding a thick piece of foam under the mattress pad. -Floor was very dirty and needed mopped. -Lots of nick nacks, plastic plants etc. that took up space in the small cottage. -Very loud window air conditioner. -The cost per night to stay here was not worth it. Look elsewhere in Bend. Plenty of good hotels. This place is run by a property management company. -

The location and view is incredible. We took our E-Bikes and felt we could go everywhere. We rode to the local bakery for a morning pastry. We rode downtown and drove past 10 Barrel Brewery and the river float takeout that we went on the day before. The room was nice but needed some updating in the kitchen. We went with 3 adults and only had 2 plates and 2 wine glasses so we ended up buying paper plates. The dishwasher was not attached to the cabinets so it wanted to fall forward when you opened the door. There was a small electric BBQ that took a while to get hot but made good steaks. We were told that the mattresses were new but the owner opted for hard mattresses which I'm sure will last longer but they were so hard we kept tossing and turning as your body would go numb. The neighbors had dogs that kept barking all night. Management was informed of the issues but slow to respond so we just dealt with it. The kitchen pots/pans were teflon-coated and badly peeling. Great location and we had a good trip. We would stay again but spend a little more time vetting the room.

Good Until It Wasn't
Initially seemed like a great place -- rooms are comfortable, the decor is nice, etc etc... However, one event truly lost my respect for management. At 9:20 in the morning (the usual time people wake up in the morning), I went to take a shower. While in the middle of soaping my hair, the shower faucet suddenly stopped working. I thought "huh, that's weird," and tried the other shower. Didn't work. Sinks, every water supply you can think of, just stopped working. This is a terrible time to actually shut the water supply off. Not 5:30 or 6:30 AM when the majority of people are still sleeping. Quite disappointed. They need to change their management standards for future prospective guests.

Our nordic ski team from Portland has used the Bend Riverside for many years when we competed in Bend. Design is a bit retro but always clean and in good working condition. Great value when you pack the kids into rooms. Great view out onto the river. Walking distance to downtown Bend. Heater fans are a bit noisy.

One Bedroom Suite was Great!
The one bedroom suite was better than expected. Location, view of the river, park & trails out front, 6 min quick drive downtown was super awesome! My room has been updated, grey & white, clean and nice, sleeps 6 adults. Kitchen had what you needed, area was quiet, and had carport parking. Had a nice pool/hot tub. Worth the money. Rhonda the maid was excellent. Giving it a 4, because the office could be more welcoming & helpful.
