A good clean place to stay while at the UBI bike school. Good location. Quiet. Service was good and responsive. Relaxed atmosphere. I would definitely stay there again.

Safe, affordable, and extremely clean - what more can you ask for?
As a solo woman traveling up the coast, I had been concerned about finding a safe and affordable option to break up my trip. Ashland Commons is both of those things and more - the beds are super comfortable, the whole place is extremely clean, and the bathrooms, bedrooms, and kitchen are all well-stocked with everything you need. On the way up I was expected to arrive close to midnight, so the staff thoughtfully called me ahead of time to share check-in information and sent me texts with helpful pictures and other information I might need (had absolutely no problems following the detailed directions). I enjoyed my stay so much that I booked another stay on my way back, and would highly recommend anyone roadtripping up/down the coast to do the same!

THERE ARE PEOPLE SLEEPING IN THE COMMON ROOM. I've never seen this. This is a COMMON room, not a men's dorm...and it's not overflow like I originally assumed - it's for the hosts to make extra money. Yes, quiet hours are 11 PM to 7 AM, but that only makes people feel bad about making noise outside of those hours.

Stay Anywhere Else
One mark pretty much says it all. (TripAdvisor will not take a review unless we put 200 characters in this section.) Ashland has a lot of places to stay--don't ruin your trip staying at Ashland Commons.

We stayed here for two weeks for UBI bike school. The views are incredible from the room we had and great common area. Lots of extra bedding for guests and well stocked kitchen. We could use one more fridge in the unit we were in as 12 people could stay there- but only one fridge but we made it work. There's a nice shortcut through the business park just two blocks away that gets you into ashland quicker into the main drag. Ask for the shortcut- and it's super easy to get to and from town and get a great side of Ashland.
