“4 Paws and a Tail Wag”-Ruthie Bea
(credit goes to Annie, the owner of Sandy Cove Inn, for this clever quote) Sandy Cove Inn was such a delightful surprise! I was just looking for a place to stay with my four-footed friend, Ruthie Bea, but this eclectic home away from home turned out to be so much more. Our room “Smooth Sailing” was clean, quiet and comfortable. And as its name suggests, it was decorated in sailing vessels. It’s located just two blocks from a Mobi-Mat leading out to a big sandy beach that was great for beachcombing and chasing the surf. I learned that Mobi-Mats are designed for strollers and wheelchairs, but also good for dogs and folks like me whose knees struggle in the deep sand. Additionally, we were about a mile straight shot from Seaside’s unique downtown area and some really excellent clam chowder. One of Ruthie’s and my favorite things about Sandy Cove was getting to chat with the absolute gem of an owner, Annie, and hear about all her great finds (and treats! Lots of treats and ear scritches). Each room is different and there’s at least twelve that are dog friendly, so Ruthie and I will be back again and again.

Caring and friendly
Just genuinely friendly and helpful. Tastefully decorated and clean. Beach towels and games were available, and a few other nice options including hot chocolate. Great recommendations for local food and beaches, and it just seemed they cared that we had a nice experience.

Old gussied-up motel on U Avenue, near a very quiet part of the beach.
The wall mural and decor was a fun flashback and the room was clean. However, if you need a hairdryer (or anything else most hotel rooms stock), you need to get that from the front desk during business hours. We also had to leave the window wide open to let the room air out as it had an awful smell. Not sure if they sprayed some kind of insect repellent or if the paint was fresh or what. Not good for security, being that we were out all day but there was no way we could have stayed in the room otherwise. Really, it's just a basic old hotel room with some pretty lipstick and no amenities. If you want to shop, be where things are happening or go to Cannon Beach you will need a car for sure. Pricing quoted and charged by owner was higher than that on booking.com so be sure to check around for pricing before you book.

Great location and reasonably priced
Only a 20 min walk from downtown on the beautiful seaside promenade. Small room but that's all we need, bed was comfortable. About a half block to the amazing beach. That beach entrance has a Mobi Mat forwheelchair users. Office provided beach towels. Very quiet spot.

Sandy Cove Inn
Sandy Cove Inn, Seaside Oregon is a wonderful little gem. The Inn is small, cozy, quiet with a wonderful staff and is a short walk to the beach and promenade. The Inn is out of the hustle and bustle of the main town of Seaside yet close enough to walk or drive to shopping, activities and dining. The beach is less than two blocks away and is gorgeous. I want to return as soon as possible.
