Seaside’s Little Gem with Big-Hearted Service

This is a lovely little gem, super conveniently located so you can walk everywhere in the charming/historic/quirky little town of Seaside. The best thing about the hotel is the staff. Warm, welcoming and here's what really told me they were fabulous before I arrived: when I called asking if they had valet or bell services (I was arriving for a conference and had a ton of stuff to lug to my room), they replied quickly with a "no, but we can ask our maintenance man to help you and it would be our pleasure to assist you." That redirect to a "no" but then offering something in its place was golden. The hotel has been updated and is very bo-ho modern with a lovely lobby and hot morning breakfast buffet, fresh fruit and an attendant to make sure things are replenished and fresh. My room was on 2nd floor and immaculate - all the basics of fridge and microwave, thoughtful and modern plug-ins for devices (USB and USB c, etc). If you're wondering if the hotel has ocean views, no it does not. It looks out on a parking lot on one side, and I"m guessing the other side may have some partial ocean views, but there's so much to explore on foot and by car. Just 10 minutes north is Lewis and Clark National Park and 30 minutes beyond that you can cross the bridge to Washington for some amazing lighthouses and Lewis and Clark Interpretive Centers overlooking the ocean. Lots of options. Every time I came/went, the staff was warm and friendly and it's a nice, solid option for Seaside. If you are attending a conference, the conference center is literally across the street- super easy access.

Nice stay in spacious corner room

Nice 2 night stay in room 421; top floor, corner room. King bed was comfortable. Balcony on the 4th floor overlooked the city and mountains and had 2 chairs. Could hear traffic noise in the room, but to be expected when so close to the public parking entrance across the street. The location was perfect as it was a block to the Promenade and a block to the main street with restaurants and activities. We didn't require housekeeping and were easily able to swap towels for fresh ones from a housekeeper we saw cleaning other rooms in our area. The complimentary breakfast in the morning was nice and included eggs, bacon, potatoes, waffles, biscuits and gravy, cereals, juices, fruits, breads, bagels, yogurt, etc. They offered cookies in the evening. Free bikes were a great perk! Hotel has a small playground, swing, corn hole, games, puzzles, and a patio area with a firepit. Free parking. Highly recommend this hotel if staying in Seaside.

    Horrible experience

Not ADA complaint! Beware if you have a disability and have a service dog! Sherry (the boss) does not follow the ADA. She made me disclose my disability in front of everyone at breakfast. Here is a description of what happened: I was at breakfast getting food for myself with my service dog. My service dog was behaving as he should. She came up to me and said there are no dogs allowed in here. I responded with "he is my service dog, not all disabilities are visible." Sherry continues to glare at me, she did not apologize. I begin to shake due to her glaring at me as I was trying to get my food. Everyone started staring at me, since everyone knows I have a disability because Sherry just made me announce it to everyone at breakfast. Sherry should know what guest have service dogs in the hotel. If the dog is not behaving like a service dog she is allowed to ask "is your dog a service animal?". She broke the ADA!!!! I do not feel safe walking through the lobby with a boss that treats disabled people that way during disability pride month. An ADA complaint has been filed against this hotel due to Sherry. I want a refund. I do not feel safe here. Staff tried to get me to check out early instead of asking how they can make it feel safer for a disabled person.

    Pleasant stay

Nice hotel, close to the beach, a few minutes to Cannon Beach. Good service and attention to detail makes for a comfortable stay. I would stay there again when visiting the area.
