Step back in time and experience a bit of yesteryear. Enjoy the beautiful Oregon Coast line by riding the rail behind a 1910 Heisler Steam Locomotive. This scenic trip chugs along Tillamook Bay and gives passengers views of the ocean. Great for all ages, this trip will give you a glimpse into history.
Nice train ride, but dinner - not so much
The train ride was very enjoyable and well worth it. I’m giving it three stars though because the dinner was not worth the price. I wasn’t expecting much, but it really wasn’t very good. While my chicken breast was ok, husband’s tri-tip was over cooked and the vegetables were cold. They ran out of cheese for the appetizer so we just got crackers. I would do the train ride again, but not the dinner train ride. It was overpriced and not worth it.
Drove 3 hours for a horrible dinner train experience. I was very disappointed to say the least as I purchased the ride for my husband and father for Father's day. Food was as bad as hospital food maybe even worse. Train ride was boring as hell. Whole experience dreadful.
Don’t waste your time or your money
We really wanted to love this, but sadly, the dinner was barely warm and bland. Cheap wine. The service was outstanding as well as the ocean views, hence the 2 stars. My sister had to leave the train before we even left because of the mold. Even then, her pulse ox dropped to 88! I am less sensitive than she, but still had to use my inhaler and I was really happy to get off into fresh air! The worst, though, was the stinky smell from the restroom! An expensive trip and SO not worth it.
Steam Engine Awesomeness!
This was SO fun! Our whole family (ranging in age from 44 down to 5) enjoyed the journey. The staff was friendly and helpful, the scenery was gorgeous and the souvenirs were spot on.
Cool train - not a ride worth 25 bucks
The ride was cool, as it's a train. However 25$ apiece to ride backwards down the road to Girabaldi where there's nothing to do and nothing is open is a bit much. The 1 bathroom at the train stop has no soap or drying towels. There's more to look at when you go forward (back to Rockaway) but not much opens before noon and only on certain days 🤷♀️
