The Bachelor Mountain Trail (#3420) is a easy to difficult trail. Former lookout site offers panoramic view of District. Many wildflowers. Trail passes through area burned in Buck Mountain Fires in 1967. Carry water. Vegetation is old growth Douglas-fir/ noble fir changing to mountain hemlock and subalpine creeping juniper association.

Directions: From Detroit: Follow Hwy. 22 east from Detroit Ranger Station for 21 miles; turn onto Road 11 (Straight Creek Road). Follow to the second junction with Road 1168. (Do not turn at the first 1168 junction; road is closed.) Follow to road 430.

Seasonal Access: Normally Open: Late Spring-Late Fall
