McNary Golf Course lies in Salem’s northern neighborhood of Keizer, on land that once housed the family farm of one of Oregon’s most prominent citizens, Governor and U.S. Senator Charles McNary. McNary encompasses 150 acres of meadows. The course is one of the most beautiful layouts in the area with lakes, impeccable fairways and greens. A small pond fronts the 11th hole, and Claggett Creek enters play on four holes. Stately oaks, firs, walnuts, redwoods, and pines line fairways. McNary enjoys excellent drainage, with one of the most playable winter courses in the Northwest. An extensive sprinkler system keeps the course green in the summer. McNary is one of Western Oregon’s favorite venues for private tournaments. The signature hole is the 567-yard par-5 18th, which winds past trees on the left and slopes toward the lake along the right. The huge green slopes toward a moat like leg of Claggett Creek. Our restaurant is a peaceful setting to have lunch or dinner and is open to the public.
