A hidden treasure, the Kerbyville Museum is the only history museum in Josephine County. The main museum explores Native Americana (the Takelma Tribe), local gold mining history, and the pioneer settlement of the Illinois Valley. Other buildings include the 1880 Naucke House, a blacksmith shop, Native American pit house, and miner’s cabin. A special exhibit, “Seeing the Dragon – American in the Vietnam War – 1958 to 1975,” is in place through summer of 2012. Visit us and touch the lives of those who have gone before.
