South Jetty offers horseback riding on the beach, hiking, fishing, windsurfing, SCUBA diving and windsurfing.
The adjacent South Beach State Park also offers fishing, crabbing, boating, windsurfing, hiking, picnicking, biking, beachcombing, camping, yurt stays, and viewing scenery.
Adjacent to South Beach State Park, South Jetty offers horse access to the beach, fishing, clamming, surfing, SCUBA diving and (for the advanced) windsurfing when conditions permit.
Vital stats: There is no fee to use this park.
: The Oregon coast receives abundant rainfall, mostly between October and April. July and August bring the best chance for clear days. Summer temperatures are normally moderate and almost never hot. Winter temperatures are normally cool at the lower elevations and cold at the higher elevations. Although snow is possible in the lowest elevations, it is infrequent and does not stay on the ground for long.
Location: South Jetty is located adjacent to South Beach State Park, off Highway 101, just south of Yaquina Bay Bridge in Newport.
