Pudding River Wine Cellars

Our vineyard and winery is located in the heart of Oregon’s east Willamette Valley, at the foothills of the Cascade Mountains about an hour’s drive south from downtown Portland. Once a poultry farm, our property sits along the banks of the Pudding River, a 62-mile tributary in the valley that is fed from the Cascade Range.

We are dedicated to producing world-class wine in classic Oregon style using sustainable methods. We planted our vines in 2004 and yielded our first commercial vintage in 2006. Our wines have been recognized by the Wine Spectator and Wine Enthusiast and have received numerous accolades from wine and food competitions in the region.

Our tasting room is open Friday-Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., February-December (closed January). We are conveniently located between Salem and Silverton, near many attractions such as Silver Falls State Park, the Oregon Garden, and the state capitol building.

Our founder, owner and winemaker Sean Allen spent 15 years working as a mechanical engineer before pursuing his passion for winemaking. With physics and engineering degrees and years of science-based learning, viticulture and winemaking came natural to Sean in his training at the acclaimed Chemeketa Wine Studies program. In addition to producing our Pudding River Wine Cellars wines, Sean provides award-winning custom winemaking for several other vineyards, wineries and wine labels in the Willamette Valley and on the Oregon coast.
