Solid food and great beer selection

I was staying with a friend in the more rural part of Springfield and wanted to find a place with good food and a great beer selection in return for his hospitality. Plank Town met all my criteria. We had a great dinner sitting outdoors (tables on the sidewalk). Beers were great. Everything we ordered was solid - burgers, fish and chips, brussels, and chicken sandwich. Nothing really fancy but well prepared. Our server was friendly and efficient. Great choice in Springfield.

Really bad

The special…a pasta dish with chicken arrived without the chicken on the two specials. We waited for the waitress to return with a second drink order hoping then to check that it was supposed to come with chicken. As we waited the food got cold. I finally went in and told the person seating people (only person I could find) that I thought the special was supposed to have chicken and it didn’t. She said she wasn’t a server so couldn’t say anything about that. Then after a pause…as I kept standing there, said she’d tell our waitress. The waitress came, apologized for not bringing the drink order earlier and I again asked about the chicken. She confirmed it was supposed to come with it and said she’d go talk to the cook. We waited some more and that by that time the dinner was cold and congealing. She brought out a plate with 4 pieces of grilled, unsalted chicken and put it on the table. I said the problem was that the meal was now cold. She offered to go heat it up but by then we were pretty well done.We ate some and then gave up. It would have been nice if the table had had salt and pepper containers and we could have at least flavored it. This wasn’t a case of them just being really slammed. We (myself, my son and girlfriend) had been there once before last fall when they were really busy and had a great meal. Unfortunately the subsequent meal they had by themselves was also not very good. We decided to give it another go thinking if we stuck to the special we should be good. It honestly was one of the worse restaurant meals I’ve ever had. Even comping us one of the meals wasn’t enough to make us reconsider.

Service slow in the beginning but got better.

Burger was good but the bun was too much bread. Catsup was awful. Fries were just ok. I love Captain Morgan and for some reason people think Sailor Jerry passes. It doesn't.

Tasty Food, Fun Place!

Some of the best food menu items we've had in a long time! Fun place with all kinds of good beer choices. We were there early, so just had to imagine what is like with crowds. The server was extremely nice and met our every need. Again, really good food!

Once was a great place.

The Atmosphere has gone downhill from when it first opened. I've been many times used to have a vibrant vibe but no longer. Food is good service and attitude is not.
