Flutist Alexa Still

You are invited to attend a concert by internationally acclaimed flutist Alexa Still (Oberlin Conservatory of Music, www.alexastill.com), who will perform with the extraordinary Portland-based pianist Susan DeWitt Smith (Lewis & Clark College). The program will include six uniquely engaging and stylistic pieces for solo flute and flute and piano by contemporary composers and Bach. A few of these pieces have been described as a “tour de force” for the flute: Zoom Tube (unaccompanied flute) by Ian Clarke; Sonata in E major BWV 1035 by J.S.Bach; Pathways of Desire (unaccompanied flute) by Reena Esmail; Requiem Milonga by Valerie Coleman; Memory (unaccompanied flute) by Chen Yi; and, Miami Suite by Miguel Del Aguila. You are also invited to stay for a brief, on-site Meet-the-Artist reception following the concert.
