KCD Entertainment, Kourtni Capree Duv, supported by Pride Northwest Inc., is thrilled to announce the start of a 2026-27 concert series, funded by a 2026 Metro Placemaking Grant. These grants are meant to “support community-led arts and cultural efforts that strengthen community resiliency in greater Portland,” and this concert series was one of thirty-two projects chosen from 115 applications. “A Vocal Monet” is the first concert in this series.
This performance by Kourtni Capree Duv, a Black trans native Oregonian, explores the beauty of perseverance through a vocal presentation that blends artistry with life experience. The show serves as an empowering invitation to embrace authenticity and celebrates the strength required to navigate spaces where marginalized voices are often gate-kept. The concert series will feature both local vocal icons and guest artists who have been instrumental in Kourtni’s story.
The production features a powerful lineup of Portland-based vocalists and performers:
Arietta Ward (Mz. Etta): A pillar of the Portland music scene. From the Waterfront Blues Festival to opening for Macy Gray, Arietta’s legendary versatility spans blues, jazz, and funk.
Saeeda Wright: A dynamic force who has shared the stage with Prince (New Power Generation) and the Oregon Symphony. Saeeda brings a world-class soulful presence and community heart.
Kourtni Capree Duv: Your emcee and th e visionary behind KCD Entertainment. A Black Trans advocate and performing artist of 30 years, Kourtni is a legendary “Auntie” of the PNW scene and a founding member of Hot Chocolate PDX.
