The second annual Oakridge Triple Summit Challenge takes runners on 50 kilometers of trails with nearly 8,000 feet of elevation gain. Spread over three days, this event will give participants a chance to ascend three of the best and most well known trails in Oakridge before descending for festivities at the finish line. Day one takes runners up and back down Dead Mountain for a 16-mile race that begins at 3:30 p.m. On day two, participants check out the famous singletrack Alpine Trail in another 12.4 miles that will burn thighs with the 2,700 feet of vertical. For the third and final day, runners will complete 11 miles on Larison Rock Trail, which has a beautiful view at the summit. In addition, there will be a flat 5K race around Greenwaters Park and a one-mile fun run for kids.
Friday’s race will begin and end at Salmon Creek Falls Park, Saturday’s event will be in Westfir across from the Office Covered Bridge and Sunday’s festivities will be held at Greenwaters Park. Free snacks and drinks will be available after each race along with food from CowGirl Cook’n. The first place male and female for each summit will receive an award and the male and female with the fastest overall time for all races will be crowned King and Queen of the Mountain. Pre-registration and packet pickup is required for this event.
