Cycle Oregon is returning this September with the special-edition Tygh Valley Rally. Built for the moment, they’ve created two unique back-to-back cycling events that celebrate riding bikes, community and the beauty of Central Oregon. Both weekends are staged in the rural community of Tygh Valley, where the Columbia River Gorge meets the foothills of Mount Hood and the high desert.
Weekend #1 (September 10-12) – Gravel Forward
Two days of gravel rides with sweeping vistas and wide-open roads. Tailored for cyclists who love exploring roads less traveled, the routes include challenging hills as well as easy rollers through the plateau grasslands and rolling foothills just east of Mount Hood. The routes include a mix of gravel and paved roads.
Weekend #2 – (September 17-19) – Road Forward
Two days of road rides through wheat fields and along solitary, forested roads. The routes take cyclists along the Wild and Scenic Deschutes River and to historic sites and welcoming towns, as well as magnificent waterfalls and scenic vistas. Day 2 also includes two optional hill segments for those who want to earn bragging rights.
