Deep in the high desert of Eastern Oregon, we’ve created the gnarliest single day gravel bike race in the country. Traverse over 10,000′ of elevation gain and loss, cross 3 creeks, 31 cattle guards, and ride through breathtaking scenes of Harney County. Bring your family and friends for this weekend long event. Two dinners available the night before- one with a local ranching family, and the other is a full immersive experience with our local Paiute Tribal members. This is a weekend you won’t want to miss out on!
Organized as a celebration of America’s public lands with a focus on Eastern Oregon, the annual Skull Gravel weekend is a true Bucket List event that gathers great people in a great environment for great cycling.
Equal parts grueling bike race and wildly fun recreational group ride, Skull Gravel offers 120-, 60-, and 30-mile course options to suit participants of all skill levels, from professional racers to casual pedalers.
Co-sponsored by Harney County, the US Forest Service, Bureau of Land Management, Oregon State Parks, REN Cycles, and Renaissance Cyclist, this legendary event showcases just a few of the rocky climbs, breathtaking vistas, and clenching descents that can be found within Eastern Oregon’s vast high desert network of thousands of miles of remote, traffic-free, interconnected roads, paths, and primitive trails circulating through almost 5 million acres of public lands administered by Federal, State, Tribal, and Local governments.
