Family owned and operated by 4th and 5th generation Oregon City family, The Weinhard Grill opened in 2016. Once a site for Henry Weinhard’s cold storage facility, purchased by Frank Busch in 1897 after immigrating from Bohemia (current day Austria), the Weinhard Grill now occupies part of a nearly one half city block of business space operated by the family.

I left a $6 tip for a $40 bill, and the waiter changed the tip amount to $60! When I spotted the error on my credit card, I took a day off work to drive to the restaurant to have the error corrected. I was credited for the $54 overcharge, but there was no apology or contrition . . . simply a statement that "these things happen." At the very least, I would have appreciated a simple "I'm sorry about this." I think the error was a deliberate attempt to cheat me, hoping I wouldn't take time to check my credit card statement. I'll never return.
We were at the garage street sale and went to eat here and it was the best service! From the moment walking in the door to leaving it was excellent service. Will go back! Bl
We went to Weinhard Grill for the first time on Father's Day. We had an 11:30 reservation, were seated promptly, and then received no service (other than water) for 20min. We finally asked the hostess when we noticed all the tables around us (who were seated after us) had drinks and were being told to go get their food at the buffet, including a party of 7. We asked again and it was another 10min- a total of 30min from the time of being seated before anyone came to the table to take our drink order or tell us to go to the buffet. To add insult to injury, the party of 7 that arrived after us was ahead of us in line at the buffet, and by the time we got food there was (and I'm not exaggerating) no ribs, no chicken, no sausage, no pulled pork, no Mac n cheese and only a small end of tri tip. A staff walked by and I asked about refilling the stations- more chicken was brought out and the people behind me got a fresh tri tip, but nothing else. There were no tongs for the Caesar salad, rolls or corn bread and very few desserts at that time. This was all with an 11:30 reservation, I can't imagine what it was like later in the day. The saving grace was that all the food we had was very very good. The drinks also came out very fast once ordered, which we appreciated. My husband has been talking about going to Weinhards for a while and was pretty disappointed by this Father's Day experience. Overall, definitely not worth $40 a plate when you can't try everything advertised. If they're going to charge that much, they should ensure enough food is available (or replenished) often enough. I emailed the restaurant directly to give feedback before posting, but did not receive a response.
When to Oregon city to explore and enjoy a nice Friday evening... stopped at Winehard Grill to sit outside on the sidewalk to have a drink and appetizers... there was nobody sitting in any of the 5-6 tables on the sidewalk... THEY REFUSED TO SERVICE US BECAUSE WE HAD A DOG ON THE PUBLIC SIDEWALK!!!!!.. OUR DOG IS A 20LB LABRADOODLE THAT IS VERY WELL MANNERED AND SO FRIENDLY... We will not be back... the waitress apologized and said that tho owner hates dogs and will not serve anyone with a dog,,,
We had 2 reservations. One for 6 people and one for 4. When we arrived at Weinhard Grill we were told that our reservations were cancelled because of covid restrictions. We were not requesting to sit together. We are all fully vaccinated. The restaurant was totally empty. The manager was rude and unprofessional. We went down the street and had a wonderful dinner and a great time. DO Not Recommend Weinhard Grill.
