Stopped in for a quick one and ended up staying all night. The owner Savannah was there and took care of all our needs. She’s very knowledgeable and made suggestions we are more than pleased with. It’s great being able to trust one with your palate!!
Cocktails iced and infused then handshaking and hors d’oeuvres fresh locally sourced. Amazing choices of wine excellent beer selection and the most amazing food, truly independence in the food industry. Independence Oregon a mush not miss! Thank you, Angela Jones
We've gone several times since they opened and enjoyed it each time. The muffaletta sandwiches are excellent! It is one of the few places open at all late and we've gone a couple times for a late drink with friends. They are more than willing to let you taste wines before choosing, We love having them in town and hope they are super successful. The Statesman-Journal food editor gave them a good write up a couple months ago. That being said, they need to get the interior remodel finished. I understand wanting and needing to get the business open, but come on, it has been a year or more and there are still unfinished parts. It detracts from the visit.
Second visit, staff and owner fun and efficient. Food is eclectic and delicious. Don’t miss the frog legs and the game hen. Wine list is simple and limited but well done. Don’t miss this gem in Independence Oregon!
Valkyrie is one of the newest, hippest wine bar restaurants to open in Independence, Oregon. It is located in an historic old building within walking distance from the hotel currently under construction. You can get a great view of the river or you can sit with a view of Historic Main Street. Both my wife and I had poboy sandwiches. She had the shrip and I had the andouille sausage. The food is good and the service is friendly.
