Fried rice was bland
Two rolls of sushi — one spicy salmon, the other “New York” but they were hard to tell apart. Which was which? Really??? Shrimp fried rice was oily rice, rather tasteless, with a few fried small shrimp sprinkled across the top. Disappointing in all.

Find somewhere else to eat
Fried rice was bland, salad dressing was thousand island, not Japanese. Chef's thinks it's a cute idea to aim at customer mouths and try to toss food in, messy and annoying when they did it to my son, who was in mid conversation and not paying attention. Nice shirt stain, Genius! Entree was o.k., but serving jumbo shrimp uncut with no knives available to customers not well planned. ZERO table service after initial order, yet they impose an 18% automatic tip on parties of 4 or more. Salem needs an alternative. It's worth the 30 minute drive to Beaverton for Benihana. They are an authentic teppanyaki/hibachi Japanese restaurant who serve Excellent food and offer actual customer service. I won't be returning to this place. Kyoto was much better than them. VERY DISAPPOINTED ☹️

EXTREMELY DISCRIMINATORY STAFF!!!
Second time and our last! Wife and I went 12/10/22 and asked to be seated at the end of the table due to arm injury/disabled veteran. This was not an issue on our previous visit. The habachi table was almost full with 2 end seats and 3 side seats remaining. I asked for the 2 end seats, explaining medical reasons. Waitress was EXTREMELY RUDE and LAUGHED at me for being a disabled veteran. Yeah, F-U!!! I asked for the manager, who stated the "rules" were no options in where we are seated. We will never return and want other veterans and persons with disabilities to know what this manager and staff think of you. This place is begging for an Americans with Disabilities Act Lawsuit

Overall Fair
went with a group for graduation. food was less than average. DO NOT order the Tempura, too much breading, service could have been much better. we will not go back

Terrible chef and rude staff
Went here for my daughter's birthday. The chef at our Hibachi table was terrible. Not one "trick", just banged around the cooking utensils to make noise. The chicken was overcooked (cut sloppily into tiny pieces). Some veggiws were burned and others were very undercooked. The soup had NO taste. The waitress rushed us thru dinner offering us to go boxes while we were still eating and bringing my daughter's birthday dessert while we still had plates full of food. The dessert was inedible (but free). Then she brought our check and wanted us to pay while we were still finishing our meal. I even told her "it feels like you are trying to rush us out of here". She didn't say anything, just walked away. There was no reason to rush us as the place was nearly empty...now I know why! Then when we looked at our check and they charges us 18% gratuity because there were 4 of us!! We asked to talk to the manager. He was also very rude! The food has been good in the past, but we will NOT go back.
