Will go somewhere else for breakfast next time
Our friends were having breakfast here so we decided to join them. My husband ordered sausage, an egg, hash browns and toast. I ordered hash browns with a cup of sausage gravy. I specifically asked if the gravy was "sausage gravy" instead of just a cup of gravy and was told that it was sausage gravy. I never did find a piece of sausage in the gravy and the hash browns were lukewarm and tasteless. My husband had no complaint about his breakfast. It seems that this is a Mom & Pop Diner and the older gentleman has a dry, witty sense of humor but the older woman didn't have much of a friendly personality from what I could tell. We won't go back even though our friends enjoy going there. To each his/her own, I guess.
Sat down to a wet table. Asked waitress for napkin to dry it. Waitress seemingly blew us off. When she brought the napkin, she throws it on the table and walked away. I've eaten at the Beachcomber restaurant on several different occasions and I know this particular waitress has an attitude, but this mornings encounter was by far the rudest encounter to date.
We should have left when we walked up to the entrance, and stubbed out cigarettes and the pack were on the top step. My husband ordered the special, which was a Chorizo Omelet and I ordered eggs benedict. It seems to be a very popular place for locals. Too many family members in the kitchen and in the restaurant and working - The food was terrible - both of us were queasy all day. I can't recommend this restaurant
Bad...bad...bad. service bad...food bad...dishonest people...had hair in food...told we would not be charged. We were charged? Did not want to argue. Paid bill...but will never be back
Great Breakfast Experience!
If you plan on eating at Beachcomber, keep your eyes open! You might drive right by it! Nestled in a little business strip on Highway 101, the Beachcomber is not a big, well-lit, standout location. But, if you're fortunate enough to stop in, you won't be disappointed. My wife and I stopped in over the Independence Day weekend and we were LUCKY! I mean it! Apparently, one of the cooks was ill and the owner was stepping in to help and they were PACKED! Just after we were seated, the poor waitresses (lovely, hard working ladies...every one!) started telling arriving folks that it would be :45 to one hour before they got their food AFTER ordering. The coffee was not strong, but tasty. I am spoiled by my N'espresso machine at home. The food was hearty and tasty! I had the corned beef hash and eggs, and the eggs were perfectly cooked sunny-side-up! My wife had the Eggs Benedict ans said it was among the best she's had. The best part was that all the food was hot off the stove! Don't look for fancy appearances at Beachcomber. The place is older and shows those signs. But, what you do get is exactly what you're there for! A hearty breakfast that tastes great and great service! Enjoy!
