High quality wines from a small but established winery east of I-5

Gamay Noir was outstanding, try it. The vintner was our guide and he was very pleasant and down to earth. Riesling was perfectly balanced. Hanson is growing some small plots of 'obscure' red grapes and we enjoyed their red blend Black Grange from a couple of these northern France varietals. Did I say the Gamay was super??? Pinot Noir was good but there is a lot of that in Oregon, try Hanson's red blends and their orange wine.

A place to fine honest, enthusiastic heart-felt passion for growing grapes and making wine.

I happen to have an abiding passion for this northeast part of the Willamette Valley where the Hanson Vineyards farm has been located for many years. I have family roots near the Woodburn/Monitor/Mt. Angel communities nearby and I share the love of it with the Hansons. Despite my bias, I have a critical viewpoint toward wineries and wine. In this very fertile terroir (plant rocks and they grow here!), the Hanson family grows several grape varietals and makes very good wine. Their operation is small in scale and somewhat atypical of any stereotype vineyard and winery. Visiting here can't help but be an intimate experience, and you won't find finer, more sincere people than the Hansons. Visit their farm, taste their wine and take lots of it home. You won't be disappointed.

    Nice Gamay

Awesome family-owned winery in the middle of nowhere, Oregon. We were happy to make some purchases of their interesting wines. The gamay and salty wine (name escapes me right now) were worth the trip. I recommend.

    Loved this vineyard!

Very enjoyable visit! Extremely friendly family who owns and runs the vineyard and tasting room.Jason went out of his way to make our experience extremely pleasant. Clark took time out of his busy schedule to talk to us about growing grapes. Nice little seating area outside where you can enjoy a picnic on a sunny day! Wines were delicious and reasonably priced. Will definitely go back.

Hidden Gem in the Willamette Valley - off of the beaten track

Small, unassuming family Vineyards, Winery & Tasting room. Really nice folks, Very tasty wines. A little off off the usual Willamette Valley beaten track, but a delightful respite from the slick & fancy tasting rooms of the large, Corporate operations in the Valley. I recommend that you visit it when wine touring in the Willamette Valley area, near I-5 and South of Portland.
