OH MY GOD! This is a CAN'T MISS!!!
I am from San Jose, CA and came up to Salem to attend our family reunion in Aumsville. I asked my dad to take me to his favorite spot and he didn't disappoint. The fruit stand is adorable and easy to find (EZ? :) we pulled into the parking lot that was spacious and clean, free of any trash or debris, with ease. We went straight to the shortcake stand that had a long-ish line, but it was completely worth it. Fresh picked and sliced fruit on a fresh-baked biscuit or slice of shortcake with your choice of mixed berries (marionberry, strawberries and I think blueberries), or strawberries or peaches over a scoop of fresh ice cream and topped with fresh whipped topping, you are in for a sweet treat. The biscuit seems to cut the sweetness a bit, but that shortcake is amazing. Either way, whether you get a small (half biscuit/shortcake) or large (full biscuit or shortcake) you are not going to be disappointed. I got half shortcake topped with peaches and strawberries. That fruit was so fresh and juicy that I knew it was fresh picked that morning. The store is a hole different adventure! The second you walk in you are smacked in the face with the heavenly aroma of fresh baked marionberry and raspberry donuts, with free samples. You can purchase a dozen or half-dozen. There are fresh jams, sauces, fresh fruit and more. You have to go!!!

Berry shortcake is a hit
The store is neat, but the berry shortcake was amazing. We had both strawberry and mixed berries. I think the mixed berries was the best, but both were great.

Fresh and Hot Donuts
Every time we are near EZ Orchard we have to go there to check out the store. They make fresh donuts, apple cider and pumpkin, both are REALLY good and they are hot right out of the fryer. They even offer samples, after we tried them we had to get the BIG bag. The produce is great too, the apples are huge, they are so big we split one. The gift items they have are fun too, I even found some gifts for friends. The grounds are fun to wander around and check out the animals, the pumpkin patch and the soular panels they have.

Simple Pleasures
My 21 year old college daughter wanted to visit "farms" for her 21st birthday. We live in California and she goes to school in Oregon, so I had to use the internet to figure out where to see "farms." I found this farm on the Marion Farm Loop website. We stopped in Friday so that we didn't have a crowd, and we didn't have to pay for many of the attractions that are offered just Saturday and Sunday. We initially stopped in the market, which I consider a gift and food store. They gave out free donuts, apple cider and pumpkin. Both were delicious. One could buy jams, fruit, drinks, and quaint gift items. We had just had donuts elsewhere so we didn't buy anything. We next went to visit the farm animals and of course we took pictures using the cute farm cut outs. We threw rope hoops on the cow's horns. We wandered around the pumpkin patch, slid down the slide, and then we paid $3 each for the corn maze. We spent 2 hours strolling around the farm enjoying the beauty of the area, and we only spent $12. It was two hours well spent remembering simpler times.
