Not a traditional army fort. This fort was established to help people settle at the end of the Oregon trail. This was used until the 1850s and turned into a museum by around 1905. A lot to see for $8 dollar, a person
A great place to get a taste of Oregon and Oregon Trail history. Very interesting to see what life was during the time of the Oregon Trail and early settler life in Oregon.
Although this doesn't look like a fort it is what's left. We were greeted outside and were shown inside, they even held the door for us. After a short explanation about the fort we were on our way around the museum. Could not believe the stuff they put in this building. Don't miss the transportation building. The Anderson home was interesting and the cookies are great
A fun place to visit and some nice people to chat with, ask them to play you some music. Be sure to go upstairs to see the western room and the woman room.
This small museum is away from the river, so you have to want to go there. It is worth it Fife local history. The tour guide was excellent. We left a nice donation.
