Excellent, comfortable base for visiting Willamette wineries
My fiancé and I spent a night in the Rose room while visiting Willamette valley wineries. What stood out first and foremost was how kind, hospitable, and accommodating June (the owner) was, along with her companions Marly and Jack. It was very clear that she genuinely cared that we had a pleasant experience. For example, she offers information/brochures on the nearby wineries and other attractions, including coupons for free tastings. She is a magnificent chef, the breakfast quesadillas and parfaits she offered in the morning were gourmet quality. The location itself is fantastic. All of the main restaurants and tasting rooms in McMinnville are within a 3-5 minute walk, and 90% of the Willamette wineries are within a 20 minute drive. Parking is easily accessible across the street. The house and rooms are historic and felt cozy with many antique furniture items. The bed was incredibly comfortable and felt like sleeping on a cloud (we were told that the mattress comprised memory foam topped with a feather mattress). The Rose Room also includes a love chair, full closet with robes, and a balcony for enjoying a glass of wine. In the living/dining area, there are wine glasses/openers, a mini fridge for food with a microwave, board games such as Scrabble, and cable with a full suite of channels.
Lovely stay and excellent breakfast
I didn't know that a private bathroom wasn't necessarily en suite, so I was a little worried at first, but I needn't be. There are two bedrooms and two bathrooms on the second floor, just not in the room. Bathrobes are supplied. The house is beautifully appointed, the breakfasts are gourmet level, and it's a short 10 minute walk to the main shopping and dining area. Coffee and tea are available any time. June, the owner, is extremely gracious and accommodating. Highly recommended.
Nice B&B with great food and friendly Inn Keeper
I stayed at this B&B as part of a horseback riding vacation I took and it was great. The breakfast was very tasty, June asked me if I liked poached eggs and I had never had before so she offered a different egg dish. I however wanted to try the poached one and I thoroughly enjoyed it. She also made an amazing Peach stuffed chocolate croissant which was absolutely decadent. June made me feel very welcome and I appreciated the flexibility with breakfast time since I had to get somewhere else. The only issue was that my bathroom was in the hallway and the bed was quite high up off the floor with a fan for circulation, so if it is hot it might be too stuffy in there. It is a small B&B, only two rooms so book early. The walk to downtown McMinnville is very short and easy to get to all the restaurants (maybe 7 blocks or so).
Great place to pause and take a breath!
The Twisted Willow is a classic B&B. Dutch colonial house nicely furnished. The porch off the bedroom is a great place to unwind and appreciate the relaxed atmosphere. Our host June, created a great quesadilla breakfast letting us pick the time. The downtown area is a five minute walk.
Great spot in wine country!
The Twisted Willow is a lovely little BnB in Oregon wine country. The room had a nice balcony for sipping wine, and the bed was comfortable. The inn is an easy walk to all of the tasting rooms and restaurants in McMinnville. June gave us some good recommendations for things to do, and breakfast was outstanding.
