Enjoyed our Stay at The Great Escape
The home was in a nice location, perfect for a family at a nicer price point than the townhouses on the hill. Well equipped and a short walk to the beach. Cozy and decorated like a grandma's house. The beds, however, were very squeaky and uncomfortable.
Functional, Classic Cabin
This property did not disappoint! Very quiet and private, and only a stone's throw to beach and grocery store, etc. Terrific separation of space. The lower level was super fun for family time with its pool table and darts.
This house was great for us. We LOVED that there were loads of family activities provided: games, bicycles, etc. It really helped keep the kiddos occupied. My only concern was the nearby playground: The metal structure had rusted out and was dangerous in some places. I notified the resort staff, and this has nothing to do with the home itself, but until that structure is repaired or replaced, don't expect younger kids to be able to play without plenty of supervision.
amazing place to stay. Very close to the beach and everything you need. No better sunset than at Pelican and seeing it set behind Haystack rock. Only 25 mins from Lincoln city and the shops and tourist stops there.
Fun stay BUT....
We stayed at Pacific city in this house as a family. My husband, kids, parents and my single siblings. This house had plenty of room for all of us but it was dirty! The rug in the kitchen smelled like dog, there was dog hair on the floors. The bathroom downstairs smelled like urine. The couches and chairs left much to be desired in comfort and smelled of dirty human head. The upstairs bedroom where I slept with my husband had a HORRIBLE mattress where one side was higher than the other. When I'd nurse my baby in the night we would end up on top of my husband. And the bunk beds were squeaky! Which didn't help for my kids to fall asleep when the others would move around. We had a good trip but the house was more like something we had to put up with than enjoyable
