my daughter reserved our campsites weeks ahead. we arrived about 7pm on July 4 and found our campsite were not adequate for campting. one site was slanted, where you could not place a tent, the other was being encroached by another camper who had a cabin and TWO tents on his site, (when we were told only one tent per campsite - thus having to rent 2 campsites - over 100.00) plus neither campsite had a picinic table. we went back to the office and spoke to the lady in charge who told us, there were on refunds and pretty much "oh well", this campsite was so overcrowded - you had no privacy at all.
Don't bother going here
Rv park is overpriced, overcrowded. Small back in spaces only, very little room to manuever, right next to neighbors or tents. Charge for extra people and cars (but no parking space for add'l car).site not maintained. Overgrown brush and trees. Electric boxes w no covers. Charge one full night even if u cancel. No store. Won't stay again.
Keep coming back
I keep hoping year after year that they will do some updating and clean things up a bit BUT you can’t beat the price, very quant, green and rustic. I wish also that the cute little store was open just one time!!! Please remodel the bathrooms and you will have a forever customer.
Quirky, kinda lost in time...
We booked because we wanted to be here for the sandcastle contest. You can't beat the location, it is a short walk to the main drag and the beach. This place reminded us of a set up from the 50's when it was mostly camping with tents and very small trailers. Spots are TIGHT, very tight. We have a 24' class C and our son had a tent sight next to us. If it hadn't been our son next to us it would have been way too close. I swear the fire rings were only about 10' apart. A gentleman with a trailer that was there before us needed to have us move one of our vehicles and our canopy so he could pull out. It is not laid out to park and move around easily in many spots. I would go again now that we have walked it and mapped it out and know where we would fit and be happy. We were right on the creek behind the main office. It was fun to watch the horses cross the creek. Walking to town/beach was a breeze. The office staff was nice and helpful. As has been mentioned before, the store was closed. Puzzled on why they don't make that the office and man it but maybe because the store in town is so close (and probably cheaper) it isn't cost effective to compete.
Not Worth the Money
We reserved a camp site a few months ago for the sand castle contest. The office said we would have a nice spot on the creek. Payment due up front. When we arrived there was an additional fee for our dog as well as another tax. The site was on the creek although you could not see it due to overgrown trees/shrubs. All the sites are very close together and extremely small. No privacy! If you want a fire bring your own wood..it's 7.00 a bundle for 5 small pieces, and the 2nd night they didn't even have any available. The morning we left as we were packing up at 9 (quiet time is 10pm-8am) we were approached by the office girl stating she received a complaint about our dog being too noisy..he is a puppy and whining(15 minutes) because he was on a leach while we packed up. We were told we needed to stop our dog from making noise or leave immediately. It was obvious we were packing up to leave anyways, yet they did not control any after hour noise, allowing people to come in at all hours to set up camp. I will not be back and suggest if you like a little privacy a site where you can move around or you have kids or animals that make noise you may want to avoid this place.
