Great location. We were able to explore Portland and several areas around with very little drive time. Minimal road noise even though close to the 5. We stayed towards the back of the park, which was helpful. Friendly staff and other guests. Dogs usually good. Most people were clean. Only complaint was the person who mows on Wednesdays is super rude. We were trying to get inside, since I am allergic to grass, when he came blowing through. I grabbed my things and headed up the steps to go inside. He didn't even slow down and rained grass all over me and into the camper. Laundry room was OK. Many of the machines had animal hair even through it is clearly marked not to use animal things in that facility. They have a separate facility for animal stuff. The little store is excellent. We will stay again.
Initial greeting by the staff was mediocre but the receptionist Julia did finally warm up a little bit. Clean laundry facilities nice amenities Wi-Fi was decent. The sites are extremely small and narrow, and there is no room for a picnic table if you want to barbecue and eat outside. One thing that disappointed us is that we had very untidy neighbors instead of walking 10 steps to the dumpster to throw the trash out they would leave their bag of trash in front of their rig.
Great launching point for Portland and surroundings
Sun Outdoors Portland South (formerly Pheasant Ridge) is the 70th stop for us and we stayed for 7 nights. Very convenient to I-5 (limited road noise) and downtown Portland, you get a positive feel when you first pull in with the green spaces (for dogs) as well as the nice office area. The host doing the check in was very nice and they worked with me when I had a package arrive before we did. The interior roads are a bit tight (38 ft. Class A) and the concrete slabs are a bit narrow but the sites are generally level. There are mature trees, farmland and woods around you even though there is a Costco/Target/PetSmart shopping center just across the street. The buildings are very clean and they have numerous dog stations. For connectivity in the morning: T-Mobile 9.7 down/7.0 up; WiFi 7.5 down/18.9 up; Verizon 84 down/5.3 up. Overall, would rate a 4.6.
WARNING: Don't Cancel
My son reserved a space for a three month stay and paid a $250 deposit. If there is a cancellation policy, it is certainly well hidden. Due to unfortunate circumstances beyond his control, he had to cancel. Not only did they not refund his deposit, he was advised he would never be able to stay at that park in the future. They would also report him as an undesirable client to other parks in the area. They had no interest in his reasons for needing to cancel. RV spaces are in big demand in this area. I'm sure it did not take more than a few hours to fill the space with another client, so they were surely not losing any income by his cancellation. Just plain rude.
Well kept park. staff is VERY accommodating and attentive
This used to be a very dog unfriendly RV park but is now anything but. Staff is very friendly and quick to respond to any request quickly. Well kept. Very pricey in the summer months but for the location it's appropriate. You wont do better in the Portland area
