TripAdvisor Ratings & Reviews
I liked this place very much. It is a small cozy room, perfect for me but may be a bit cramped for a couple on an extended stay. The bed was comfortable with the Nehalem River right outside my door. The disappointment comes from restaurants and shops being closed on Monday & Tuesday in Wheeler. It would have been nice to have an option to eat within walking distance. This has nothing to do with the Lodge but traveler be aware.
Wish we had stayed longer
We only booked the lodge for one night stay on a trip around Oregon and Washington States from the UK. We had a lovely room with a deck and outside seating just adjacent to the lake. So beautiful and peaceful we wished we had booked for longer. Plenty of local restaurants a short drive away and one on the bay itself but this was closed for a private party whilst we were there.
Solo adventure - can't wait to return
I played hooky from work and spent a weekday night at Wheeler on the Bay Lodge, and I can't wait to return with my husband. I fell asleep to the sound of falling rain, and woke to the distant sound of the ocean. I am so charmed. The service was very gracious, particularly after I left something behind and the staff went above and beyond to return it to me. I recommend.
Super clean! Absolutely love Martha! Didn't want to leave, as the entire experience was perfect. She has surpassed all expectations in a vacation destination. Jessica is a gem as well. love, love, loved our visit! We will be back! Forever new friends! Gorgeous home away from home!
What a place!
I was impressed with this quaint lodge. The views were excellent (I went kayaking the first hour I arrived) and there were some good places to get dinner. The room was sweet and I found their DVD collection a nice touch. Their breakfasts were different but I liked the format (come and see for yourself). However, my favourite part were the hosts. I found them very helpful and friendly. And the guy had such a great sense of humour, he should have been English!
