Clean motel with a few problems
Motel was clean. A/C didn’t work properly in our room but a friend staying in a different room had a great A/C. Key card quit working twice. Breakfast was decent. Motel was within walking distance of river walk and downtown for the Underground tours. Location was perfect for that.

Not a Friendly Place!
I had requested a ground floor room. When we arrived to check in, the clerk asked "so you need only a ground floor room?" I replied yes. He said "I do not have any ground floor rooms." I said "well why did you ask me then?" He just stood there with a blank stare on his face. I asked if there were any ground floor ADA rooms, because I qualify as ADA. He said no. So he put us in room 228 right above the office which was kind of fishy. The door was marked "Sleepy Bears Den" which was really weird. My 8 year old boy checked every door on the second floor, and no other room had that designation on it. We felt very uncomfortable. The room had floor vents that looked like they went down into the office. The guy obviously hated serving customers, and denied us a ground floor just because he could. Two things: There were obviously ground floor rooms that were not occupied. We could see through the windows. Also we could not see or find any ADA parking. There should be ADA parking spaces prominently marked and conveniently located in the parking strip in front of the rooms. I asked if I could park in front of the office and the clerk said no. Wyndham needs to terminate the franchise for this location. I am shocked and ashamed that they allow this behavior by an owner. I want a refund and an apology.

Scammers working the desk
I booked a room using Priceline with my debit card. When I arrived at the hotel, the man working who claimed to be the owner couldn’t process my card. I asked if he could do it manually and he refused to do so, saying he couldn’t. I’ve worked in many hotels, restaurants and bars and have never heard of a place that couldn’t process a card manually. He kept trying to get me to pay cash which was super weird considering I had already booked the room using my card and based on other reviews online, I’m pretty sure he’s a scammer. He was extremely rude and unhelpful. My partner called them to question about entering the card manually and the owner literally LAUGHED at them and said it was our fault and even called them a derogatory name. I’m blown away by this treatment. So no place to stay and still being charged for this room. Please beware. Whoever owns this place is insane to treat paying customers this way

Queen size room was really a double
The room was clean the breakfast was decent. The location was decent. The staff was friendly. The bed was soft. However, the room advertised as a queen size room. When I arrived I noticed that the bed was actually a double. When I called and brought this to their attention, they argued with me that the bed was a queen I said no the bed is a double. They said my only option was to pay for an upgrade to a king. Very dissatisfied with this resolution

Not our favorite place.
We spend a few weeks in hotels every year. This was one of the worst ever. Reception was totally unwelcominging. They overcharge and the room was scary. When we entered, the room stank of chlorine bleach. Old linen and the bedspread was stained with God knows what. The towels literally had holes in them. Breakfast? They ran out of fruit, only had bananas, and were too cheap to put out the tea till asked for it. Coffee? Watered down. Stale bagels and cereal. I've never has worse. I don't know if the mangers were the owners but the travelodge is doomed with the people running it. This motel should not be Wyndham approved
