What a gem in Oregon wine country! Fantastic, food, wine Guest rooms, amenities, meeting facilities and service. From check in to check out you will be made to feel very welcomed. Can’t say enough about it and can’t wait to return!
**Best place for a Girls Getaway **
If you have never stayed at the Allison, you are missing out!! If you want to be treated like a queen and spoiled & pampered your entire visit, this is the place to stay hands down. The staff is amazing and every detail has been thought of. Truly an amazing, relaxing stay!
We chose The Allison Inn & Spa for a girlfriends retreat. A couple of us had stayed in the past and had good experiences. The property and rooms are very beautiful. The service was seriously lacking. When you pay $600 per night for a room, you have certain expectations. Not only were our expectations not met, but we had several very frustrating issues. Positives: Lovely building and grounds / food and beverage was expensive, but the quality was very good. Location is a good to visit many wonderful vineyards. Negatives: Issues with housekeeping - dirty dishes left and no clean glasses when they had visited our room to make beds. Requested dishes be cleared, clean glasses, additional pillows, and a water and our room was visited FOUR times to fufill this request. Very disruptive. Staff did not have good knowledge of the area. There is no coffee or tea in the room - you have to go down to the lobby to get this. I asked for a tray to carry 4 cups back to my room and I was told to bring the tray back. All I could say was, 'Seriously?' as I stood in the lobby in my robe. The rude reply, "Yes, we only have two trays." First - there should be coffee available in the privacy of our room; second - since it isn't, the staff member should've offered to carry my coffee back to my room with me to retrieve his tray if he needed it so badly. My spa service had a huge issue that I won't go into here. Tip: The valet service is included with your stay. However, since we didn't receive a welcome email or anything highlighting this, I wasn't aware. It is noted on the website, but after booking several months in advance, I missed this. Valet service is generally pretty expensive so I self parked a long ways from the front door. Then could not find any way to get to the front door without going up 3 flights of outdoor stairs. I had to drag my heavy suitcase up these stairs. I can't imagine how somebody in a wheelchair would get to the front door. When I asked the front desk lady about a better way to the front door from the parking lot she said, "I don't know, we come in a different door." Then, no offer from anybody to help get my luggage to my room. I was buy myself and had a lot... this is pretty standard practice in places with this price tag. In closing, I do not write bad reviews, but feel there needs to be a buyer beware with the current lack of service. I do love this property and hope that leadership takes action in additional training for the entire staff.
October Wine Family Trip
Incredible property, grand setting, very comfortable and enjoyable. Food was great in the restaurants. Rates are high, but worth it. Spa is well appointed. Common areas of the hotel are outstanding. Really enjoyed the visit.
Better then expected
We recently spent 6 days at the Allison as our home base as we visited the wine country. We read the reviews and friends told us how good it was so we had high expectations, which they exceeded! The Inn and facilites are understaed elegance. Everything about it said first class! Few of the places we have stayed before have had such a highly trained staff that were so friendly, professional and helpful. Therooms are quite large, at least ours was, firnished very nicely and made you feel right at home. My wife said her spa experience was outstanding in every way. The Jory resturant is clearly the best in the Valley and a must do. We cannot wait to go back. While it is expensive this is one place where you certainly feel your money was well spent!
