The Adobe Resort is located on Pacific Coast Hwy. 101, one mile from the coastal village of Yachats right on the edge of the rocky Oregon coastline. Most guest rooms have spectacular ocean views, some with fireplaces, and king size beds.

Horrible.
I have a two year old, and was told all the rooms had manual locks, but when I checked into my ocean view room, the door to the hallway didn’t have one, and the dead bolt unlocks when you push the door handle down, so not child safe. ….so they gave me two other rooms to choose from (not ocean views) and neither of those had child safe lock’s either. I ended up having to blockade the door with furniture so that my two year old couldn’t possibly just walk out in the middle of the night. I paid the same price for no ocean view also lol Then the WiFi barely worked. The remotes to the tv worked only half the time… one room in the suite had no working heat. The refrigerator froze all my food. The free breakfast sucks, some highly processed off-brand bagels and muffins that have a five year shelf life… boiled eggs, coffee but no milk alternatives at all!!!! Like really it’s 2022 guys! I mean because of covid this resort basically is no longer a resort, it’s got a swimming pool, that’s it! The game room was closed, the gym outdated… lol. And the water was so cold we couldn’t stay in, so we had to sit in the kiddie pool. Yeah! Another problem with this hotel….. no vegan options on the menu, they lady said she thought this one dish might be vegan lol and I was told the hummus and pita bread was vegan, but it didn’t taste good, it had like no flavor, and I suspected it wasn’t actually vegan :/ very overpriced and just not good food options. They need to salt the foods!!!! The food was not good. The hotel is outdated but that doesn’t bother me so much, but the smell of mold and dust did. I woke up all stuffed up. I think they shouldn’t be charging resort prices for a room to sleep in that’s gross and no good food, get it together guys! Update your Menu to accommodate more people… replace your carpets, heck gut the whole place it’s nasty! Pros: the people are nice, sort of lol It honestly feels like an old folks retirement home, everyone that stays there and works there is like 80 years old I’m gonna start staying at a different place in yatches from now on, I’m over the Adobe… update your menu, replace the tvs, invest in some high speed internet, get some oat or hemp milk and I might be back! Later!

What a diffference a day makes!
I had to write a bad review of a different hotel from the night before and am delighted to post this 5 star review today of the historic Adobe Resort. This was my second stay, this time with hubby so opted for an oceanview upgrade. There had been a terrific storm over the past day or two, and when we arrived half of the hotel was without power. So the desk clerk upgraded us to a huge suite with jacuzzi tub and full-on view of the churning ocean below. Gorgeous and dramatic! Room was comfy, plenty of heat, nice amenities. We ate in the dining room, had pretty good halibut and wine list was decent. Friendly helpful staff. Breakfast was Continental style and instead of picking out our own food, we got to tell a server what we wanted and it was put into a box to take to rooms. Not sure whether that was because of COVID or because there was still no power in that part of the hotel.

Not my first Adobe Review
Due to COVID it had been a lengthy time between my ADOBE visits. I was anxious to see if the ADOBE had maintained my expectations with the not only COVID but also the labor shortages. My visit December 20-23 did not disappoint in anyway. Check in time is 3PM and I arrived a few hours early. The front registration area was beautifully decorated. Even this Atheist found it a nice welcome with all the lights and colors. The staffer at the front desk December 20th at around noon was cheerful, welcoming and I felt like my stay was appreciated. She provided a lot of information about the restaraunt, pool and lounge. She apologized the restaurant was not open for breakfast but explained the complimentary grab and go breakfast. My room #330 is described as a suite. A corner room that gives you a great view of the wave action on the rocks and trail along the waves edge. A king room with a jet tub, microwave, mini fridge, flat screen tv and video player. Videos are for rent in the gift shop for a charge of $4 or 2 for $6.95. I absolutely loved the mattress, bedding and assortment of pillows. Towels felt thick, plush and new. Condiments included the usual and I enjoyed the in room coffee. The ice machine is located on the first floor by the elevator entrance. Parking is well lighted and I felt safe attending to my car and around the surrounding area. A nice trail to the beach and dog walking area should you have a dog. Online reservations were easy. A hold on my card but card was not charged until I registered in upon arrival. The entire staff from registration to housekeeping were friendly and attentive. I can't wait for my next stay.

Bad experience X2
I stayed there October 13th, I had to unplug the lamp because I was scared it was going to short out three out of four chairs were broke and the bed had a big sinkhole in it that was room 2:17 I stayed November 12th in room 319 the furniture was in the same distress the leather was coming off all the furniture for $300 a night this room should be no less than perfect. The manager Andrew said what is he supposed to do he said he can't get any furniture and he can't keep refunding my room and if he took the chairs out of the room I probably want him to count my room for that so I got nothing attitude from the manager. They did comp my room and I assured them they will never comp my room again cuz I will never stay there

Housekeeping????
Leave nothing behind! 3 times I heard,” nothing was turned in.” No one had been in our room after we checked out but housekeeper. My charger wasn’t cheap. A lady left her insulin pen in her room.” Nothing was turned in.” Another lady left her pillow. “ nothing was turned in.” Restaurant staff was nice. Breakfast (full menu) was superb!
