River House Inn - Travel Oregon

Not for the light sleeper

The good: walkable to old town Florence, if you have a Riverview room the view is lovely as is the view of the old bridge. The bad: cars crossing the bridge the bridge make A LOT of noise, all night long, the rooms are not soundproof, also walls are thin and the clientele are not soft-spoken folks. The rooms never were elegant, but now are very worn, the sprung beds as also very worn, the heaters are antiquated and quite loud. I would not recommend it overall unless you sleep like the dead on anything.

Comfortable Stay in Great Location

River House provided us with a comfortable river-view room for our overnight in Florence. The property has clearly accumulated some years of service, but it's well maintained and clean, and it met our needs. Check-in was smoothly handled (thanks, Mel), and we were given useful suggestions for restaurants within walking distance. Coffee was available in the lobby for our early start. We had a nice view of the Siuslaw River and enjoyed watching the duck population diving for their breakfast. Would definitely stay here again. Location near Florence's Old Town is ideal for visitors

Thanksgiving: Plan B

When our Thanksgiving plans were canceled by Covid, we decided to take ourselves to the Central Oregon Coast for a few days as a consolation prize. We love staying at the River House Inn for a variety of reasons - the beds/linens are very comfy, rooms are not big, but just right with a little table and chairs by the sliding glass doors to enjoy the ever-changing scene along the banks of the Siuslaw River. The clouds, rain, brilliant sunshine and bright stars held the top part of the view, while below, the river, changing tides, sea birds and seals kept us entertained us for hours. We love how convenient the location is for walking to shops, dinner and drinks in Old Town Florence. Check-in was simple as was check-out. Always very clean, too! Looking forward to our next stay there!!

Amazing gem

This Inn is really amazing. I have recently stayed here two separate times and it was great both times. The front desk people are amazing. They are really friendly and accommodating. The rooms were clean and nice. I loved the little rubber duckies in the bathroom. The beds were really soft. I would definitely recommend this place to stay.
