Might well be the worst place I almost stayed at.
I booked a room through Expedia for 2 nights. We checked in and immediately noticed a bug in the bathroom sink and rinsed it down after taking a photo of it. Then we noticed another on the ceiling, another on the curtains and another on the wall! We called the front desk and they sent a staff member up by the name of Michael. He said those type of bugs are common in the area and not of any concern, but moved us to another room. I googled the photos I took and found out that they are silverfish. I then found one on the wall in the new room and never even opened up a suitcase in that place. I moved my luggage to the car and went down to the front desk to just get a refund and leave. Michael then suggested that perhaps these silverfish where coming out of my luggage? I yelled at him and his manager. I asked the shift manager how could no other guests notice this ? She said "there have been some problems. "I did manage to get a great king suite at the Hilton across the bridge in Vancouver Washington. This place obviously has a pest infestation that is out of control. I can't believe this slum has the reviews that it does.
Waterfall in the middle of the bachelor party.
Last evening, myself and several of our close friends got together at the Red Lion hotel for a bachelor party. We rented the parlor suite on the lower level, Room 156. from the time we got there until check out time the next day... there was a constant stream of water pouring through the ceiling in the main living Room. We called maintenance 4 times. They showed up 4 times, they did the exact same thing all 4 times...which included opening up the ceiling in the middle of our party, shopvaccing the floor and furniture, and toweling up water and dirty drippage from the air conditioning above our Room. Every time we called the hotel for help with this issue, they complain that we were too loud in the Room And threaten to kick us out. They never ever fixed the leaky, waterfall situation. I asked that we be moved to a similar room, they said they were all booked except for a small Room with 2 Queen beds...eventhough they knew this was not going to a accomodate our 18 man party. They knew we were in that Room because we had a large group and needed the space. They told us every Room in the hotel with booked and they could not do ANYTHING about it. Now it is the next day... and I have been charged full price for a horrible room, and they told me they would fix this by giving me one free breakfast as a compromise for the issue! This is totally unacceptable. I used to love the Red Lion hotel and often picked it as a destination place for overnight stays, mostly the presidential suite. I cannot tell you my level of disappointment at their response. I understand it's an old hotel and needs constant repairs, but that should not be the case with the customer service. I am so so disappointed and not to mention embarrassed by the fact that I had to ask my guest to stay amidst the waterfall that was pouring into the middle about to gathering. I'm so disappointed!! please get your act together I fear you are going to go all the way out of business based on this kind of situation. I think if you improve your level of customer service you will get the guest in there, so you can have the money to make repairs to this failing establishment
This hotel is nothing special. Having said that nothing really wrong with it. The rooms however are awfully long way away from reception. The pool images looks inviting. However in reality not as large as the photos make it look. Did have bar service at the pool via a house phone. Generally an OK hotel. Did have coffee and drinks in the bar later in the evening and these were extremely disappointing. Asked for fresh coffee and it took the bar 35 minutes to make and then when it arrived it was cold. Make your own mind up based on this review and others
Stay before river cruise
We were very pleased with our accommodations at the Red Lion the night prior to embarking on our American Cruise Lines trip. It was included with our package and we had seen some not so flattering reviews, all worry for no reason. We took an Uber from the airport. The property is quite sprawling with various amenities. Our king size bedroom had a balcony with a view of the river and our boat. The bed was comfortable for a bit of a late sleep in. All white linens and modern finishes. The bathroom was large with nice sundries supplied. There was a second sink outside of the bathroom with a microwave, refrigerator, and coffee pot. As we visited with family we found their room to be equally spacious. We had dinner and breakfast at the restaurant with satisfaction. We even enjoyed the coffee bar. This was perfect gateway for our journey.
Stayed here two nights prior to our American Cruise. Upgrading some areas, will be nice when done. Mostly friendly help. Shut off my credit card for some reason the last night, had to go to the desk. Restaurant food and prices were very good. Only had a half roll of t.p., and one plastic cup on arrival in room. Very comfortable bed!
