Disappointing - Dirty
Have stayed here before but won’t again. The bathroom was filthy. Big chucks of something on the floor which were hard to miss, hair everywhere, etc. Had to ask for toilet paper. Counters were dirty with coffee stains and there was food left in the fridge from someone else. Disappointing.
New ownership changes
We’ve stayed here before and enjoyed the experience. This time we were disappointed to find the room dirty, no wash cloths, one towel. I think the worst was finding dog food on the bathroom floor. Evidently new ownership since last fall. They must be having a hard time. We’ll not stay here again.
Covid-defiant. Libertards go home!
A dog sits on the floor. Cute! Love dogs. But the floor looks unkempt in the reception room and the windows are dirty. A harried-looking woman sits behind the counter, laughing and talking with a guy checking in. Neither is wearing a mask. When he leaves, I ask her if they don't require masks in this county. She replies defensively. " "I'm not wearing a mask--this is my home!". I look around - it does indeed say "The Ponderosa Motel", not "x's home"on the signage. She then goes on to talk about her rights as a homeowner, upon which I realize I'm dealing with someone who has likely been to a spreader event of late. "Ok, I'm not staying here", I replied, and she gingerly put down her pen and sent me on my way. "yeah, buh-bye". I assume that if this is the front person, the rooms aren't exactly pristine. Sleep in your car, buy a tent, but don't stay here.
Dirty room, friendly staff
I cleaned dust off everything. There was mold inside the lid of the ice bucket. The coffee maker was dirty as was the microwave, refrigerator, toilet lid and seat. The tub and counters were not clean. Only decaf coffee. Black finger prints on the phone. The entire room needed to be cleaned thoroughly. This was room 252. The bed was clean and comfortable. I'd suggest checking the room before you register as the reviews are mixed.
Your classic small town motel that has been there forever.
My wife and I were in Enterprise for an overnight stay on a road trip we were taking out west. Our room here was small and it came with very small bathroom which I think is typical of small town motels built decades ago. The bathroom door squeaked which isn't good when one of us gets up several times a night. This place appeared to have a "motel dog" who seemed to hang out around the outside of our room but he never barked or bothered us. There was a "cabin" look to the bed and the bedspread and tables which was nice. There were some difficulties with the TV reception in our room. The mattress was good and we got a good nights sleep. Being from the midwest I had to ask the older lady desk clerk how she felt about the continual riots in Portland and she felt they wouldn't last long on this side of the state. All in all, it was a satisfactory stay and I would recommend the Ponderosa.
