Just back from three nights. The room was impeccably clean and nice size. The shower was great. Because of covid, housekeeping did not come by everyday, but a quick call to the front desks got extra towels. Breakfast was still available with prepackaged muffins, yogurt, cereal and breakfast sandwiches. They're was a Kerrigan in the room for hot coffee and tea. Super close to UofO . My family enjoyed the pool and hot tub. Great value, will be staying here again.
Solid choice in Euguene
The Good: 1. Great location in the heart of the city, particularly if you need to visit the University of Oregon Campus 2. Friendly, helpful staff--particularly appreciated the fact that they let my family eat our take-out dinner in the breakfast dining area 3. Clean, modern, updated rooms with comfortable beds 4. Very quiet with little to no sound heard outside of the room 5. Excellent, free breakfast which was modified due to Covid precautions--still plenty of food to eat (especially liked the Jimmy Dean sausage, egg, and cheese sandwiches--yum!) The Bad: Nothing Would I return: Yes
Nice newer hotel but....
I want to start by saying that this is a nice hotel. The staff is great, the breakfast they provide is hot and has a good variety. The rooms are spacious, the beds are comfortable, and it’s quiet. My problem is with the bathrooms, specifically, the toilets. I stayed at this hotel about 2 years ago and informed management that the toilet in my room needed a good scrubbing. I even provided pictures and they agreed. I was astonished to see that this has not been corrected. I don’t know if it’s hard water stains or something else, but it looks disgusting and I cannot understand why this hotel would allow a room to be occupied with the toilet in this condition.
I was early but didn't call
I showed up to check in for my reservation at 11 in the morning. Josh informed me that he didn't have any rooms ready yet but would rush a room for me. Sierra was my housekeeper that made his promise come true. They both went above and beyond what was expected even though I was the one who didn't think to call ahead of time to let them know I would be arriving 4 hours early. One would think that by asking for the room to be rushed it would be half done and get bad service the rest of my stay but they entire staff was amazing and the room cleanliness was not rushed at all.
Above & Beyond
TOP-NOTCH-SERVICE & CARE !!! The past 60-Plus yrs., both my wife & I, have traveled throughout the U.S., quite extensively. We've experienced some of the best and worst hotels our country has to offer, from the Ritz-Carlton(s) to the cracer box Motel-6(s). November 21st, 2019, after having been at a hospital in Portland, OR., 24/7 visiting a very ill friend for 2-days, we had a 1:30 p.m. court date in Eugene, OR. We arrived in total disarray at the Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Eugene at roughly 9:30 a.m.. In desperate need of showering, shaving, change of clothes, prior to court, we asked, what the odds were obtaining a room by noon so that we could attend court, in a presentable fashion. Front-Desk employees (Josh Mabry & Jesi Love) could make no guarantees but assured us they'd do their utmost best. Josh escorted me to a suite which had just been vacated and needed cleaning. We agreed to stay, paid for the room, went to our truck to wait, praying we'd ben in our room with enough time left to prepare for court. At 11:00 a.m., I approached the front desk to see what our odds of getting in early were. Josh & Jesi, informed us our room was ready. Clearly they had done all they could to meet our needs. Their care & concern, lifted a tremendous burden from us. I hurried to our truck, informing my wife, "Our room is ready". Needless to say, she was more than elated. We were able to accomplish all we needed, appearing in court rested and fresh. Returning to our room after court, we found that each and every employee we had contact with, greeted us with a smile(s), warm gesture(s) & a servants attitude. Never, anywhere, have we had a more satisfying stay, bar none. This was entirely due to the employee's outstanding hospitality they each extended to us everytime we left our room. Josh Mabry, Jesi Love (front-desk), Kallee & Holly (housekeeping), Phadra Chappel (GM) & the entire staff on all 3-shifts, we are truly grateful to you all for making our stay most enjoyable. Due to these outstanding employees, coupled with their attitudes & work ethic(s), the Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Eugene, Oregon will be our home away from home each and everytime we stay in the Roseburg, Eugene, Salem area. We want to thank you all for taking a most stressful time and molding it into a most enjoyable stay. All of these employees, definately are employees I'd be proud to have. They are the cogs and wheels that keep this organization operational. THEY ALL DESERVE RECOGNITION & A HEFTY RAISE !!! BECAUSE OF THEM WE WILL BE BACK AGAIN & AGAIN. Vince & Debbie Avana
