Unsafe and poorly maintained rooms
We stayed in two rooms for total of three nights. The first two nights we had a "suite", which meant there was a connecting door with a bed, TV, two side tables and two lamps. However, there was NO smoke detector, one lamp didn't work, and the TV didn't work. The shower had moldy grout. Second room was 2 Queen beds. The AC did not work well. They engineer was off for the next 48 hours -- so no help to us. TV didn't worked (but fixed on third hand control), moldy grout in shower.
Will not stay here again
I booked a double queen room for my son and I for three nights. There were a number of issues varying in severity. On the first night, after entering the room, I used the bathroom and discovered that the toilet had not been cleaned AT ALL since the previous occupant had left. There was urine and chunks of something all over the inside and outside of the toilet bowl. The sink was severely clogged and drained very slowly. Washed my hands and it took 30 minutes to drain. The bathroom light was flickering and needed to be fixed/replaced. The refrigerator froze all the stuff we had put in it upon arrival. I reported all this to the front desk in the morning. They apologized and said they would have someone service the sink and clean the bathroom that day, neither of which happened. Housekeeping didn't even enter our room the next day nor did anyone to fix the sink. On the second night, I reported all the issues again. By noon the next day, housekeeping had not yet shown up nor had someone to fix the sink. I went back to the front desk yet again. Finally, after having to report these things three times and being clearly unhappy with the situation, they sent someone to clean the room and fix the issues. The staff were nice enough people, but they lacked a professionalism that you expect at a Hilton property. Other issues: The room smelled like cigarette smoke and some sort of artificial scent to cover up the smell of smoke. The lobby and all the common areas wreaked of some scent that smelled like artificial vanilla. The walls and ceilings are thin - we heard people above us that were up very late, making it difficult to get a good night sleep. Will never stay here again and will be sure to read detailed reviews prior to booking any hotel.
Well-placed, clean, modern sanctuary
Here is a delightful sanctuary situated ideally at the rim of the city and the edge of the country. You are nestled next to Sunset Hwy for that fast getaway to the Oregon beaches. This is a spartanly appointed, clean, modern facility. Parking is quite secure. An Arco station for refueling and the Sunset Evangelical Presbyterian Church for soul nourishment are conveniently adjacent. Pamper yourself.
I can only speak to my experience but, in no way did it resemble the one star reviews. I found the property welcoming in nature. The staff were great and really seemed to like their positions. While I didn’t eat or drink in the hotel, the bar area was quite inviting as was the lobby area in general. I went and looked at the pool and hot tub and it was inviting. The problem I had to work late and the pool was most likely closed. It would be nice if the pool and hot tub were open late w/o children after 9PM. I will be back and I’ll bring the kids too
1 star hotel
I don’t get how this is a 4 star hotel. It’s old and worn down. Front desk staff is surly and not friendly. Our bed was not made - looked like the sheets were not made after the previous checkout and the they were just hurriedly tucked in. No breakfast. Save your money and stay elsewhere! Not worth even if you get this for 100$/night.
