We were in town to visit Crater Lake and opted to stay here instead because the place we were going to stay at near the park didn't have a fridge, microwave or television. The location of this place is nice as it wasn't far from the airport and only 90 minutes from the park. The very friendly staff got us in before we were supposed to check in which was nice. The rooms were clean even though the building and the rooms are showing their age. The hotel provides a nice free breakfast if you don't want to go out and spend any money. Overall a nice stay from beginning to end.
If it’s sleep you’re looking for, find a different hotel.
We stayed in room 301 on 7/21/22 and while the room was clean and the bed was comfortable, the air conditioner is the basis for the U2 album “Rattle and Hum”. This thing was so loud and so inconsistent that I was up almost all night and I have another 7 hours to drive today with very little rest. To top it off, when I let them know, the woman working the desk told me how sorry she was, but there was no offer to give any discount or anything else other than “sorry about that.” I spent 6 years traveling for business and I’ve never stayed in a hotel room that had such loud mechanical issues. Make sure you don’t stay here and if you do, do NOT stay in 301.
Super Nice Stay and Helpful Staff
I was in a 26ft truck with trailer. When I pulled in I tried to go around the hotel, but it was a dead end. So I had to unhook the trailer and back out. The staff came out to helped so that I didn't hit anything, then they had me park in front of the hotel. Can't ask for much better than that. I had missed the "Dead End" sign when I entered the property - so all that is on my me :(. The room was very nice and clean. They take great care to insure that all public areas are sanitized. Breakfast was good as well.
Don't trust their "park and fly"
Called twice, spoke to day shift staff, and was assured: 1. Yes they do park & fly, yes 3 weeks ok if I book both ends of trip 2. No fee if I book both ends of trip 3. No need to book directly, can do on-line to get advantage of current promo. It was impressed upon me that I had to leave them a spare car key. Show up for stay and was told - no we can't do "park & fly" this weekend because of a baseball event, and their lot is too small. Also that there was no note on my reservation about park & fly. Manager denied all knowledge. I would have to park at the airport. Of course I hadn't written down who I talked to because it seemed so straightforward. Don't trust anything they promise about "park & fly". Other than that, the hotel is very clean and has no funky odors. Due to allergies I requested a pet-free room and was given one on top floor - relatively quiet. They are still doing buffet breakfast, unlike many who don't let customers near the food due to COVID. Not comfortable with this because most people didn't wear masks. Staff say masks are required, but it's not enforced.
I Liked It
We only stayed here one night while on a road trip, but I was surprisingly pleased with the hotel. The rooms were nice, clean, and comfortable. The simple, complimentary buffet breakfast was well stocked and clean.
