    Never again

There is nothing that would make me pick this particular hotel ever again. Please pay attention to the other poor reviews here. For our room we had hairs in the bathtub, only two towels, the shower head was coated in rust, there were dust bunnies and a dead spider behind the bathroom door. The whole non-carpeted floor may not have been clean in a week. There was fecal matter splatter on the toilet bowl. The floor creaked everywhere, the carpet was threadbare, and not sure it was recently vacuumed. There was a live cockroach on the wall. The microwave had food particles scorched in it. The water tasted terrible. And to top it all off, one of the dining chairs looked as if someone had previously wet themselves on it leaving a massive stain which should have deemed the chair disposable. The wi-fi couldn't maintain a signal and you were better off not signing in. The television reception was equally deplorable, getting fuzzy channels and very few of them at that. The pool is in a separate building which itself looks abandoned and the hot-tub wasn't working. Other negative reviews received responses from the alleged management to correct such situations they described, would bring it to the attention of the cleaning staff, and assured better control of its cleanliness. Those reviews were 2-3 months old and seemingly nothing as actually been done about it as we have almost the exact same complaints. The few passable items were the bed was semi-comfortable, there is plenty of parking, and the gentleman who checked us in was mildly polite. We selected this hotel on a booking site based on the previous America's Best Inn that we stayed in earlier in the week in South Dakota. If the parent company compared these two inns, this one would get shut down. There are five hotels in John Day, I beg you to pick a different one and you should get a better experience. This was absolutely not worth the $140 for the night. We wouldn't even risk the included breakfast based on how poor the rest of the place was. This was the second worst hotel we have ever stayed in.

Only good thing was the clean beds!

Extremely disappointed! Advertised heated indoor pool but the pool must have been 50 degrees! Hot tub didnt work! TV in our room was horrible, blurry picture! The only light in the bathroom that worked was the heat lamp light..the main light and fan didnt work! There were food crumbs on the carpet by the refrigerator! We will never stay here again!! And we paid over $140.00 for all of that for 1 night!!

    Terrible place.

Floors were dirty, and not vacuumed.Quite a few hairs on and in the bathtub. The office personal were really flaky. We got there around 1:30pm and paid, only to be told to come back in an hour and our room would be ready.Got back at 2:30 only to be told to come back in 45 min.to an hour. They said they were short handed, but a group of guys and a girl standing around by the pool area talking and goofing around and on their phones, not working at all.The whole place was gross.Dirty outside by the rooms metal rods sticking out of the cement up top.Tripped on one, very dangerous. You can see light all around the doors.Would not recommend staying here.

Lack of Cleanliness, especially in bathroom

We checked in having stayed at this location the previous year. This time we discovered dead bugs and dust bunnies littering the bathroom floor, spots of paint on the carpet (I had to keep my slippers on at all times) and a frozen burrito in the fridge from the previous occupant. I thought $94 a night would buy a cleaner room.

    Would stay again

The room was very spacious and came stocked with the items most places offer. It was actually better than I had anticipated for a small out of the main travel route hotel. The staff were friendly and accommodating. It is also pet friendly. There’s no down side to the place, if anything it could use some updating.
