Stay at the Royal Sonesta

Great experience, Beds are comfortable and the suites are spaces. Staff is super friendly. The Finch on Fifth restaurant was nice. Had breakfasts and the food was delicious. Grayson was a great Waitress Probably would be my preferred place when in visiting Portland. The night worker when I visited was super helpful as well. got a few issues resolved within minutes.

Great Hotel and Staff

Good, funky, friendly hotel in a good location. Great shopping and restaurants downtown. The Japanese Garden and the International Rose Garden are a short Uber away. Didn’t see any tent cities but there are homeless people scattered about. No different than any other major city.

The Friendliest Hotel EVER!

This hotel is all about warmth and friendly service, starting with a warm welcome and a lot of important information from Karla at the front desk. Next, my wife and I had dinner at the hotel’s attached restaurant, Finch’s on Fifth where Jennifer, Spencer, and Lily were so sweet, funny and wonderful (and the food was also so good that we ate there several times during our two week stay). And, the valet parking attendants - Katherine and Mark - we’re the kindest and most respectful people we’ve ever seen at a hotel and are the kind of people we would like to call our friends (if they will have us)! Although the Royal Sonesta Hotel is not in the best part of downtown Portland, it totally makes up for that with great and unobtrusive security and a staff that takes service seriously! Where did you find these wonderful people? They should train everyone in your system on how to treat other humans. Thank you for this place of loving hospitality.

A quick getaway

The Royal Sonesta is an historic building and isn't as spaciously modern as many resorts. The staff was very helpful and attentive. The Finch on Fifth restaurant attached has wonderful, soothing atmosphere, and the servers Grayson and Jennifer made it that much better with their personal touch of attention.
