My favorite place in the world so far
We loved our stay and Grandview Bed and Breakfast, the home is so comfortable, quaint, romantic. Loretta treated us like royalty and the view from the balcony of our rooms was breathtaking. We were rugt over the Columbia river. I want to go back, it is my happy place.
Clean comfortable place in a convenient location
Was able to get a nice room on short notice at a good price. Excellent amenities. Friendly host. Would return next time I visit Astoria. Deer browse outside the window. Good view of the river. Quiet neighborhood.
Not so Grand!
I wish I had read the reviews before I booked the cloud 9 room. The house smells moldy, the bed linens musty with thrift store furniture. Breakfast wasn't memorable and I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Not professional, cluttered front room and not worth the money.
Great location and Grandview!
Friends had recommended Grandview after their January 2017 review and we weren't disappointed. We were in the Gazebo room and what a view we had! Staff was very friendly and the breakfasts were fantastic! We love the view and location, close to Ft. George brewery, restaurants and the Heritage Museum. We did miss having a common area so that we might run into more guests but this time of year it is quiet anyway.
Up the hill gets the view!
For a house that is 120 years old, you will get flaky paint here and there and no air conditioning in the rooms. The house is huge and each room has a different design and layout. For a party of three, we asked for the Cloud9 with a twin bed and queen bed. It's a tight spacing but it's a room with a bathroom attached so we like that! For us, it was all about pricing and location. We decided to skip breakfast since we heard it was lox and bagels that my son would not enjoy. The last day we were there, the power went out late at night. The hostess gave us money to get breakfast in town. I would stay there again and try the Tree Top room which is more open in its layout. We liked the fact that we could park and walk 4 blocks down to town than take the Trolley around if we needed to. The walk back up is a good way to burn off dinner! You do need a quick lesson on locking and unlocking the main door. Safety first for the Guests!
