TripAdvisor Ratings & Reviews
This place is right in the ocean. Only 2 rooms, but both are fabulous. Large deck with fire pits and absolutely outstanding ocean views. We saw whales every day right in front of us. Dian and Joe are very gracious hosts, helpful and kind. Can’t wait to go back!
What a location!
Our room faces the ocean all along one wall. We saw whales within minutes of arrival. We walked to downtown dining and shopping. The host is outstanding. The private deck and balcony were just jewels in the crown. A must stay in Depoe Bay, Oregon.
extraordinary and unique
We travel and I am drawn to water; rivers, lakes, oceans. Our home is on a river so we have daily views of beauty and nature. The Whales Rendezvous draws us back. Why? For two reasons. First, you are as close to being on the ocean as I have experienced short of a cruise ship. This visit (summer) we saw up to 6 whales a day frolicking and grazing on the kelp in the bay. Several were within 20 feet of the rugged rocky, precipitous shoreline, which is about 40 feet below our window. In the winter, we watch waves crash, roll, and spray high in the air. Mesmerizing. And.... from the warmth, comfort and privacy of our room. And second reason we keep returning? Jo and Dian. They are truly hospitable, kind, and lovely, and have created a cozy environment where true respite and restoration is achieved.
Amazing location to visit the Oregon coast!
The suites are located within a stones' throw of the waves crashing on the rocks immediately below the fabulous decks. Views from the couch and bed are perfect!! We highly recommend the wonderful place and Dian and Joe. They are the icing on the cake to this B&B!!
Whale of a Tail (Tale)
Spent four days (November 7th through the 10th) with Dian and Joe at their lovely property in Depoe Bay, Oregon. We experienced several Whale sightings from our deck and bay window in the Rose room, and enjoyed the open fire in the evenings. Very private and intimate setting right on the OCEAN, literally! The morning of our last day we saw a very large Grey Whale feeding right in front of us, not twenty yards away. We both marveled how close the whales feed next to the ledge where the deck extends. Our hosts were very accommodating with helpful suggestions for our support. Next year we plan on staying in the garden room, a bit earlier in the season, where we can enjoy the beautiful outdoor surroundings in fair weather... Thank you Joe and Dian for a wonderful anniversary experience, Harvey and Lorine
