Fun for the whole family. Fantastic time!!!!!
Don't Listen to any negative reviews about this place!!! Every part of this experience was outstanding! From start to finish everything was professional, fun and safe. The horses were great! The instructor was very knowledgeable and fun. It was a perfect experience and made for a great day. I highly recommend this tour for anyone, you won't be disappointed. If you write a bad review about this place I would say take a good look at yourself, that's were you will find the real problem.
Pretty ride, but concerning horses
We booked our trip the day before we arrived in town. It was easy booking the excursions online and they were ready for us when we arrived. We had a 3:00 hour long ride scheduled, but check-in didn’t being until 3:15. The staff were very nice and attentive. I indicated that my son and I were both beginner/ intermediate riders and it appeared as if the horses were selected according to riding experience. As soon as he got on the horse, he was told that his horse was misbehaved and didn’t follow commands well. Therefore, a staff member had to attach a rope to his horse and hold the rope tightly throughout the entire ride. The horse was completely misbehaved and was terrified of the ocean water. Every time the tide crept up to the horse’s hooves, the horse would totally freak out and jolt in the opposite direction. As his mother, this was quite frightening to watch. It was a long. hour. The ride was pretty, but I’m concerned about the training of the horses.
My wife, twelve year old daughter and I went out on some great horses for the hour long ride. My horse “Moose” was awesome and easy to control which allowed me to enjoy the beautiful scenery. The young staff on the ride were entering and knew the quirks of all the horses. It was a pleasurable ride for all, especially my daughter who had her first horse ride and can’t wait to do it again.
Thoroughly enjoyed every minute of our ride. Pistol was a great horse that I really didn’t need to guide at all. He knew exactly what to do. Guides were amazing and never a minute feeling insecure. Will do this again.
Some horses are not trained or safe even for intermediate riders!
Horrible and dangerous experience and I'm an intermediate rider with my own horse for 2 years that's for intermediate/advanced riders so I know how to ride and handle difficult horses. I told them I needed a dead broke horse for my teen because she had only ridden a handful of times. They gave her a horse almost as hard to handle as my horse "moose". A kid about 12 and a 3 year old help people mount up while they tell the 12 year old to watch the 3 year old (he thus loses him for a good 5 min). Guide was young (teen) and didn't have allot of exp. Older more exp guide both were no help with our hard to control horses. The guides tell you to stay close together not spread out on beach which makes zero sense. My horse tried biting and kicking other horses, he wasn't easy to control whatsoever and has a very hard mouth. Couldn't enjoy exp even looking at Ocean because all my time was spent trying to control him. My teen is short, she has a horse also hard to control, won't listen to direct reins and kept losing her stirrups because they didn't shorten them enough for her (they said they were as short as they go) so her toes are barely touch stirrups and her horse is being so difficult she is almost in tears and this is a teen who's a brown belt in karate, she's not a prissy girl by any means. I yell to the guides (the older one) she keeps losing her stirrups and her horse is hard to control and is for intermediate rider, get a lead rope on her horse and pony her so it doesn't keep trying to run off! Both guides say they can't do that they don't even carry a lead rope! Say what?! You don't have any safety equipment?! We almost both got off and walked back but at this point we all a long long way down beach and had just turned around. We got back finally glad to be alive and off those 2 horses! They had the nerve to say "hope you had a good ride" after I dismounted. I'm like if you can't tell we did NOT have even the slightest of a good ride you have no business being a guide! 2 others in group of about 8 of us also had some issues with their horses , the other 4 had no troubles and had a Good time with smiles so some of their horses are trained well and some are obviously not and have no business being a rental horse. Especially when you specifically tell the guy picking the horses she is a beginner rider. Don't waste your $$ or safety on this place! Go down farther to Florence and rent horses for beach rides. Went there 4 times over summer and not one bad experience. Well trained horses, the guides are experienced and have walkie talkies so they can talk to each other and back at Stable and lead ropes for emergencies. They also check saddle cinch 3 different times on course of one ride to ensure safety. This place didn't check anyones once after we mounted and left for the beach. Just another reason this is so unsafe.
