We were looking forward to a nice getaway but, they fell short! It's just sad.

This is a copy of the email I sent to the resort regarding our stay! I am awaiting their response! 7/1/2023 Hello, My name is Christopher Gonzales. My wife and I booked Cabin 17 for 2 nights last last year, for June 30th and July 1st this year. We were so excited to finally be able to stay at the resort, and when we arrived we paid our balance and got settled in. Then things got crazy! The people staying in cabin 18 were strongly slamming the door and there was a child screaming at the top of his lungs at approximately 8pm. A few minutes later, there was solid banging on the connecting wall! I mean banging that would have knocked stuff off of it! I opened the door, and went to knock on their door, and a lady sitting outside at the picnic got up and approached me asking if she could help me with something? I told her that there was solid banging on the wall and there was screaming coming through the wall. She informed me that the child was autistic and was having an issue with the camping. This continued up until a bit after 10. My wife and I were just so stressed. This was not what we came up to the resort to achieve! We decided that if they were there for our other night, then we couldn't stay. It was just insane that this was to occur! I understand that the child had a personality disorder but, I wasn't there for that child I paid to achieve some relaxation, and to just enjoy the lake and surroundings! I cannot fault the parents except, that they should understand that they are affecting others especially at a campground or resort, I am sure it is rough for them as well. We informed the gray haired woman at the desk in the store about the fact we had to leave do to the aforementioned situation, and that we regretted it but, we just wanted to relax, and there was no way that would happen if there was another incident! She informed us that she would pass it on to the manager but, didn't seem too believable. So, I am sending this to have a record the it has been passed along! I will also be fair in my review of the resort. Sincerely, Christopher Gonzales As my email states, we were left with no real choice even after reporting it to the desk, we just got the pouty, I'm so sorry! We paid over $360 dollars for a night (because you have to have a minimum stay) that far out ways the stress of work or anything else! It was horrible! Food was awesome, the only real good point we could take away from this experience!

Hidden Gem in the Cascade Lakes

We were looking for a lake to rent a boat on and do a little fishing & swimming. We did a little drive up to the lake to check it out before renting the boat. Stewart at the resort store was super helpful. He took our reservation and we returned a couple days later. We rented a sea-doo switch boat and we were very happy with that boat. It was a lot of fun to ride around in and do some fishing. It's worth the extra money to rent the sea-doo switch. The boats are new and clean. The boat is peppy and it also worked great for fishing. The guys working at the marina were very nice and helpful as well. Upon returning the boat in the afternoon, we got lunch at the resort restaurant. Lydia was our server and she was wonderful. She was super attentive and nice. They have a great beet goat cheese salad and in house smoked meats. The dirty fries are great. The only negative of the restaurant is that the burgers come with a side such as potato salad or a couple other options, but they charge $2 to sub for fries. Fries are standard with burgers and should not be charged $2 extra. It made me feel like they were just trying to get $2 extra out of me for something that should come standard. They have a nice swimming beach that is for cabin guests only, but you can use the beach if you are renting a water craft as well. They have a water volleyball net and you can swim out to the floating dock. We loved our day trip to Cultus Lake Resort and we will definitely be back. Everyone at the resort was very nice. This is a hidden gem in the cascade lakes.

Fun at the lake

We’ve gone to Cultus Lake Marina 3 years in a row as part of a central Oregon vacation. We rent a jet ski for a half day and then spend a few hours swimming, jumping off the floating dock, paddle boarding, and lounging around. Prices for the rental were noticeably higher than prior years but still felt like an awesome way to spend a day. The lake and views are incredibly beautiful. Booking online is easy and we’ve always had great interactions with the staff.

A rather disappointing stay in the woods

We just stayed in Cabin #7 at the resort. We found the cabin to be unclean - sand and dirt on floor, linens not in room as requested. food stuck to kitchen table, water found in one of the stacked bowls that had been there a while, water sitting in shower pan and curtain was wet and stained on the bottom, etc. etc. We were left a tip envelope which I found rather amusing when all that is done in the cabin is to clean the toilet, bathroom sink and MAYBE the shower. The renters are required to do most of the cleaning. It is doubtful that any COVID precaution's were taken. The resort was closing for the season on September 23 - our reservations were for the nights of the 20th and 21st. The docks were being brought in even though several of the cabins were occupied which I found to be rather annoying - we paid as much money as those in the summer who had full use of the resort. The restaurant closed on Sunday 9/19 and we were never notified. I was planning on going there one night of our stay. I did find out when I went there for lunch the week before that they were closing then. I would have been highly annoyed had I gone there not knowing and not being prepared to make my own dinner as nothing is really close to the resort. The only redeeming factor was the awesome view from the cabin. I will not be booking any more cabins at this resort.
