Most people go through life searching for someone to be their adventure buddy. That one special friend who shares the same love of adventure, travel and lust for life that they do. Fortunately for the two of us, as twins, we were born with ours! And we couldn’t have picked a more spectacular place to call home than Oregon, where fun and adventure are literally all around us! From skiing Mt. Hood, surfing the Oregon Coast, rock climbing at Smith Rock or kiteboarding in the Gorge, we have a really hard time running out of things to do. Basically, what we’re trying to say is . . . we never, ever get bored here.

Oregon has been our playground since we were little kids. We grew up hiking around the Gorge, skiing on Mt. Hood and playing in the hills of Portland . . . and all of these activities were usually done in matching outfits. So, the question we usually get is, “How do you guys not get sick of this place, and each other?”

It’s simple, really: Oregon is constantly providing us with new opportunities to play and get our adrenaline pumping. Our most recent adventures took us to the Gorge for an exciting and extremely challenging day of kiteboarding. Not the easiest sport we’ve ever tried to take on, but the people we met and the absolutely stunning views we got to experience while cruising through the Gorge made the trip perfect. We even spotted a herd of mountain goats while cruising on our way out to the Wallowas for our rafting trip afterwards!

And talk about getting your adrenaline pumping! Rafting the Snake River through Hells Canyon is one of those experiences that we will be talking about the rest of our lives. Getting tossed around class 4 rapids, through one of the most scenic places in Oregon, was without a doubt something that we will both be trying to re-create in all of our future activities.

And let’s be honest, we’re not attached at the hip. When we’re not together you’ll find Lauren running Oregon Surf Adventures, teaching surf lessons and tearing up her own waves whenever she gets a free second. And you’ll find me, Dana, guiding people down the Deschutes, the McKenzie or any of the other amazing rivers that Oregon has to play on.

However, whenever we get a free second, you can bet that we’ll be back together, looking for our next big Oregon adventure. Whether it’s me going to meet Lauren for a surf trip, or her coming out east for some rock climbing or a ski session, we will always make time for Oregon and each other.
