A Picture Is Worth $1,000!
You came, you saw, you took photos. Now the Oregon Cultural Trust, our state’s endowment fund for arts, heritage and humanities, wants to see whatcha got! In fact, they want to reward you for letting them know what Oregon culture means to you.
From October 1-31, 2011, post your favorite “cultural moment” photos on the Oregon Cultural Trust Facebook page and be eligible to win $1,000. Dubbed “This is Culture,” the photo contest celebrates Oregon culture in its many forms. With special categories for “Food Culture,” “My Life, My Culture” and “Oregon Oddball,” and top prizes for photo quality and unique content, you may already have a great picture worth sharing.
Maybe you whipped out your smart phone at a Willamette Valley winery or snapped the perfect shot of your family reunion rafting trip on the Rogue. Perhaps you caught your former college roomies playing air guitar at an outdoor ’80′s hair band revival in Bend (if so, you have our sympathies.) Now you can share these moments with the world and win incredible prizes like VIP passes to the 2012 McMenamin’s Edgefield concert of your choice or high-end camera equipment from Pro Photo Supply. And thanks to Whole Foods Market, the grand prize winner will receive $1,000 cash AND $1,000 to donate to the Oregon cultural nonprofit of his/her choice.
To enter, simply upload a photo on the Oregon Cultural Trust Facebook page between October 1 and 31:
