Catch some clams
During the winter months, especially during low tide, the abundance of razor clams lurking beneath the sand makes clamming a can’t-miss activity. Rent or purchase your gear from Trucke’s 1-Stop and familiarize yourself with local tide tables prior to your trip. One day of clamming not enough? Consider a vacation rental property, which may allow you to cook your fresh catch.

Go paragliding or zip lining
Strolling the streets of Seaside can be relaxing and good for the belly (with all of the sweet treats to be had) but taking your adventure to the air is also a favorite for those mild winter days. Discover Paragliding offers tandem flight training along the North Oregon Coast and High Life Adventures is the ultimate zip line experience for kids and adults of all ages.

Travel a tasty trail
Think trails only mix with hiking, biking or kayaking? Don’t tell that to beer lovers or those familiar with the North Coast Craft Beer Trail. This liquid trek has 11 stops, and visiting nine will net you a commemorative pint glass. In Seaside, Seaside Brewing Company does small-batch brewing 3-4 times a week (Friday brews, from noon to 7 p.m. are a mainstay) and welcomes visitors.

Explore the great outdoors
Go for an easy paddle on one of Seaside’s rivers and keep an eye out for bald eagles and blue heron. Seaside is also ideal for exploring on two wheels, with options from fun surreys to ride through town to mountain biking trails that allow you to explore the beauty of the Necanicum Watershed.

Take a walk through history
Explore Oregon’s oldest seashore resort town from the historical lens that the Gilbert Inn, circa 1892, has to offer. With this beautiful Victorian mansion as your home base, spend hours piecing together the rich heritage by visiting Fort Clatsop, the Columbia River Maritime Museum, and the Oregon Film Museum. The Seaside Historical Society and Museum can help you tie it all together.
