I recently had the opportunity to spend an amazing weekend at Mt. Bachelor Village in Bend, Oregon. This particular trip was a result of a promotional package, called “Girls Go Bend”. The details of this package were outstanding: accommodations for four women in a gorgeous condo overlooking the Deschutes River, spa treatments, a snowshoeing trip, and dinner at Merenda Restaurant.

Day 1 – Friday
On Friday morning, I gathered up three of my best girlfriends, and hit the road in my little Honda Civic. We completely lucked out, as it was a bright, sunny day without a drop of snow on the Santiam Pass. Once we arrived at Mt. Bachelor village, we were astonished to discover we would be staying in a chic little condo, complete with a full kitchen, fire place, two huge bedrooms, and a private hot tub (check it out at http://www.mtbachelorvillage.com/). At this point, we felt as though we had reached the lap of luxury. And it only got better from there.

Day 2 – A Workout on Snow, Facials & Cosmic Grape Martinis…yum!

On Saturday morning, we met up with Wanderlust Tours for a snowshoeing excursion. This was my first time snowshoeing, and I completely fell in love with the sparkling snow, the massive old growth trees, and really, the sport itself. Our guide, Dave, was incredibly helpful, and very professional. He gave great talks about the animals living on the mountain, as well as the mountain itself. I would highly recommend taking this tour, or any other tour that Wanderlust offers. For more information, please visit http://www.wanderlusttours.com/.

After getting our morning workout, we headed over to Jinsei Spa for facials and massages (http://www.jinseispa.com/). This was nothing short of fabulous. I can’t even describe how relaxing it is to leave all your tension, muscle knots and the stresses of everyday life behind. Once we were fully relaxed, we traveled back to our condo to get all dolled up, and headed off to a fantastic dinner at Merenda Restaurant. We enjoyed wine, spicy pasta with sausage and a delicious red wine sauce, in addition to an outstanding chocolate-filled dessert.

Our evening continued through the wee hours of the morning, as we took our time visiting the Benddistillery Martini Bar (the Cosmic Grape martini was very tasty), and danced the night away at The Grove and Joker’s. For more information on Bend’s nightlife, please visit www.visitbend.com.

I was so happy when Ashley invited me on this trip and when we arrived in Bend, it was even better than I imagined! What is better than taking a break to relax, catching up with your girlfriends and being pampered and treated like a princess all weekend? This was such a great getaway and i reccomend it to anyone in need of a vacation and some serious girl time.

Ashley is a dear friend to invite me on this amazing trip. She knows that as a “fresh out of college grad” I do not have the money for such excursions. This weekend trip was wonderfully relaxing, fun and exciting. Snowshoeing was informative and beautiful, the spa was RELAXING and they take good care of you there and dinner was well presented and delicious. Go if you can!
