The name Charlie Buck/Baldy Peak is a combination of two trails that were realigned t provide continued access to the Baldy Peak area while dropping approximately two miles of the old Charlie Buck Trail from the trail system. The trail proceeds uphill from Road 2000.940 at a ‘healthy’ rate of climb, but is well worth the effort with spectacular views of the upper Applegate Valley. A short side trail travels to Baldy Peak (4645′) and offers excellent views. The trail continues up the ridge to the junctions with the Mule Mountain Trail #919 and Road 2010.301.

Directions: From Ruch: Travel south on County Road 859, past the Star Ranger Station, and turn left onto Primary Forest Route 20. Follow 20 east for approximately 1.5 miles and turn right onto Forest Service Road 2000.940. Follow 2000.940 for approximately 3 miles to the trailhead.

Seasonal Access: Normally Accessible: April-November

Facility Type: Trail
