Castle Rock Trail #3506 is a more difficult 4.6 mile hike at an elevation of 2,400 feet. This trail goes through a heavy forest of second growth Douglas-fir on a gentle upward climb. The last 1.8 miles is a moderate climb up to the top of Castle Rock and the site of an old lookout. A great view of the McKenzie River Valley is available.

Directions: From Blue River: Travel 3.5 miles east on Hwy. 126 to Aufderheide Road (FS road 19). Continue on Aufderheide Drive for 0.5 miles. At the stop sign go straight onto Rd. 19-410 for 2 miles, turn left onto Rd. 19-411 and continue for 2.75 miles. The trailhead is on the left and is hard to find.

Seasonal Access: Normally Open: Year-round (Recommended season is early Spring to late Fall.)

Facility Type: Trail
