One of the best kept secrets in the Oregon golf world is a nine-hole track in Reedsport named Forest Hills Country Club. Don’t let that Country Club stuff fool you, the course is open to the public and offers all the amenities including pro shop, grass practice range, golf cars, locker rooms, restaurant and bar. Playing at about 3200 yards, you might think this will be an easy test of golf but don’t forget you’re at sea level, so the ball won’t travel quite as far as those high desert courses. Forest Hills was built in 1964 by International Paper and while the mill is gone, the course remains a tremendously playable asset to Reedsport and the South Central Oregon Coast. Very affordable at just $30.00 for 18 holes, Forest Hills is a favorite of many Bandon caddies who just don’t want to play golf in a four club wind. Try Forest Hills for yourself!
